Abisko Arctic Reindeer and Sami Cultural Experience

2 hours 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: Swedish and 1 more

Discover the rich traditions of the Sami people during a unique encounter with reindeer herders in the Arctic. A snowshoe walk through winter landscapes leads you to a reindeer enclosure, where a Sami herder shares insights into reindeer husbandry and the cultural significance of these majestic animals. Enjoy the chance to feed the reindeer and interact closely with them before gathering around a traditional lavvu, sipping hot drinks and enjoying snacks while listening to fascinating stories. Capture memories with professional photos throughout this intimate small-group experience, with a possibility of witnessing the Northern Lights on your return journey.

During October and November, the use of snowshoes depends on snow conditions. If there is not enough snow on the ground, the experience will be operated as a regular hike instead of a snowshoe tour.
