This 2 mile trek takes you through beautiful forest trails, where you'll encounter streams and wildlife while foraging for the goats' favorite snacks. The journey lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your group's pace, and concludes with a meet-and-greet with smaller breed goats, each with their unique rescue story. Perfect for active animal lovers aged 14 and up, this experience offers a delightful blend of hiking, nature, and goat companionship.

Meeting and pickup
Take second driveway (pass mailbox and make first right at Frederick Farm sign) Parking is marked. Follow signs around the barn and fenced garden to the goat enclosure entrance, where you will meet your host(s).
What to expect
Designed for people who love being active, out in nature and love animals! Come hike with the herd of rescued goats on beautiful forest trails in a remote part of the Catskills, under 2 hours from Manhattan.
You'll become part of the herd when we start on a 2.5 mile hike on meandering paths and over beautiful streams, enjoying the wildlife and scenery while we forage for some of the goat's favorite treats, like leaves, acorns and pine branches. Watching the goats in a natural habitat and bonding with them is truly magical. The hike takes 1.5 - 2 hrs, depending on group pace and extra time is spent meeting the other herd of smaller breed goats.
Visitors will meet and learn about each goat and breed, as well as their rescue stories, behaviors and personalities for those who are interested. Your guide can tell you more than you ever thought you wanted to know about goats - so just ask!
