If you need assistance, contact the Reykjavik Excursions/Flybus representative at their sales counter in the arrival hall. The transfer takes about 45 minutes to the BSI bus station in Reykjavík. There you might either continue with the same bus or be transferred to a smaller coach to your accommodation in Reykjavík according to instructions of the driver. Today we explore Reykjavík on our own and then set out on an exploration of the Atlantic Ocean’s wildlife with a Whale Watching tour from Reykjavik. Encounter Iceland’s rich bird life and an array of sea creatures, including minke whales, humpback whales, harbour porpoises, and white-beaked dolphins.
Today we will start our journey to the remote Westfjords, meet your guide at the hotel lobby at 09:00. Our first stop of the day is at Grábrók, a 3,400-year-old volcanic crater offering panoramic valley views.
Continuing on, we venture to Eiríksstaðir, once the dwelling of Viking explorers Eirik the Red and Leif the Lucky. Explore Viking life and Icelandic history as you visit a replica longhouse and living museum.
Afterwards, we visit Þingmannaá Waterfall, the first of many charming waterfalls in the Westfjords.
Our day begins at Rauðisandur, one of Iceland’s most picturesque beaches. Extending for 10 kilometres, this beach features striking red sand blending seamlessly with the turquoise waters, providing stunning photo opportunities.

Our adventure continues with a visit to the Saltverk factory in Reykjanes, where we delve into the fascinating process of salt manufacturing powered entirely by geothermal energy.

Here, we marvel at ancient grimoires, ritual objects, and the intriguing Icelandic magical staves believed to hold protective and magical properties.
Following a week filled with fascinating discoveries, we journey back to Reykjavík, making several delightful stops along the way. Our first destination is Hraunfossar, also known as “the lava waterfalls,” where glacial waters filter through lava for hundreds of kilometers, creating a mesmerizing spectacle as they appear to flow from the lava rocks.
Next, we visit a charming horse farm, offering a close encounter with the Icelandic horse, known for its fluffy coat and friendly demeanour.
