  • 1
    Castelmola

Morning in the hilltop village above Taormina, about 500 m above the sea. Enjoy the views of the coast and Etna, walk the lanes and stop for a coffee in the main square.

1 hour • Admission ticket free
  • 2
    Ancient Theatre of Taormina

Walk into the Greek-Roman theatre of Taormina, built by the Greeks and later changed by the Romans. From the seats you see the sea and, in good weather, Etna. The visit takes less than an hour. The entrance ticket is not included: you pay on site.

45 minutes • Admission ticket not included
  • 3
    Corso Umberto

Stroll the main street of Taormina, from Porta Messina to Porta Catania, at your own pace. Shops, cafés and small squares line the way. Piazza IX Aprile, on the way, has a view over the bay.

1 hour • Admission ticket free
  • 4
    Villa Comunale

Walk through the public gardens above the sea, created in the 19th century by an English lady, Florence Trevelyan. Paths, flower beds and viewpoints over the coast make a quiet stop after the busy main street.
