Departure from our offices and the YWCA-Parkview suites, Nyerere road Nairobi.
Our offices are at the lower ground floor of the YWCA-parkview suites.
Start in the early morning at 8am for a drive to Lake Nakuru. On arrival check in to have lunch and relax after the drive. The afternoon gives you a chance for wildlife viewing in the park. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore. In the evening wind up your safari and return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Have breakfast at your hotel then bid Nakuru goodbye as you drive to Masai Mara. You will be welcomed with a scrumptious lunch at the camp upon arrival. Rest a bit then head into the park for an afternoon game drive. It is one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeests, zebras and attendant predators. Drive back to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.
This day you will be exploring the Masai Mara extensively. Packed lunch will be served picnic-style inside the park close to the Mara river. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife, and it's one of the few places where it's possible to see the Big Five during a morning's game drive. Many cheetahs are so used to vehicles that they seek shelter from the hot sun under them, and several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. Return to your camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast you can have an optional visit to the Masai village. Here you will learn about the pristine culture of the Masai tribe. Afterwards drive back to Nairobi. You will be hosted for a complimentary lunch at the Carnivore restaurant before being dropped off at your city hotel/JKIA Airport depending on your flight timings.
