We return from Lake Mývatn at least 1 Hour before the ship departure, making sure you do not miss your departure.
We have a hut at the main port in Akureyri (Tangabryggja) marked with "Saga Travel". Our guides wear red jackets marked with "Saga Travel". If your ship arrives at the secondary port (Oddeyrarbryggja) our staff will meet you right outside the ship and walk you to our meeting point.
The tour starts in Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland. We pickup at the port and when all are aboard we start the tour.
Godafoss Waterfall is a very popular destination in North Iceland. Located in Skjálfandafljót glacier river it cascades roughly 12 meters in the gorge below.
The crater row at Skútustaðir. A very nice view over the lake. Also an information center for Lake Mývatn Nature Reserve.
Lava fields of Dimmuborgir. Formed in a lagoon of magma some 2300 years ago. A source of myth and folklore as the lava formations look like trolls, frozen in time.
The boiling mud pools of Hverir fields. Steaming fumaroles and otherwordly views.
After a scenic day in Lake Mývatn area we return to Akureyri. The drive is about 1 hour long.
