    Karl Johans gate is the main street of Oslo. It was named in honour of the King of Norway, Karl III Johan, who was also the King of Sweden, Karl XIV Johan. In addition to Karl Johans gate, Palace Hill (Slottsbakken) and Palace Place (Slottsplassen) cover 300 metres. Walk along Karl Johan gate and learn all there is to know about the Norwegian Santa “Julenissen” and his relation to the Norwegian's pagan past.
