Your guide will be waiting to greet you at the 'Alexander the Great Terminal' in Thessaloniki Port, holding a sign that reads 'VEXPERIO'. After disembarking from your cruise ship, please remain inside the terminal area. Your guide will meet you in the parking area.
After being picked up directly from the port, you'll meet your friendly, English-speaking guide and board a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to begin your adventure.
Start your Thessaloniki tour with a visit to the White Tower, the most recognizable symbol of Thessaloniki, located along a picturesque seaside promenade. Originally built as a defensive fortification, it now represents the city’s rich heritage. Next, visit the Arch of Galerius, an impressive Roman monument from the 4th century, featuring detailed carvings that celebrate Emperor Galerius’ triumph over the Persians. A brief stroll brings you to the Rotonda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the earliest Christian buildings in existence, where you can admire its exterior.
Visit the outside of St. Demetrius Church, a stunning Byzantine monument honoring the patron saint of Thessaloniki. Head back to the city center to explore the Roman Forum, an open-air archaeological site that was once the main hub of ancient Thessaloniki. As you stroll around the area, you can admire the remarkable ruins and get a sense of the city’s historical life.
Conclude your tour in the lively heart of Thessaloniki, beginning at Aristotelous Square, the city’s central gathering place. Wander along busy shopping streets, browse unique local shops, or relax at a cozy café. If you’re feeling hungry, it’s an ideal spot to savor traditional Greek dishes. The last part of the tour involves a 30-minute stroll.
Once you’ve enjoyed some free time at Aristotelous Square, your guide will escort you back to the port. The walk is brief, so you’ll return to your ship in just a few minutes.
