Tired of food tours with large groups, tourist tastings, and rushed stops? Ours is different.

With a maximum of 10 guests (often just 6–8), our tours are small, personal, and thoughtfully paced. You’ll be mostly seated at quality, local spots — with a few outdoor tastings chosen for their charm, not convenience. Some stops even offer private tasting rooms for a more intimate experience.

Special drinks like craft beer, jenever, or natural wines are included where they fit the story — never an extra charge or off-limits.

Led by a Dutch guide with deep local ties, this tour skips the tourist trail and takes you into the real culinary heart of Amsterdam.

    Cafe Papeneiland

Meet your guide and fellow participants at Amsterdam's finest Dutch 'bruine kroeg' (brown pub) and enjoy the famous homemade apple pie with a drink to your liking just like Bill Clinton once did here. The ideal way to start the tour in a relaxed way, get to know each other and hear fascinating stories such as why the Dutch don't consider apple pie a dessert and why they like to eat it in a brown pub. And your guide also likes to tell you about the history of Amsterdam and the Jordaan neighborhood where the tour takes place.

    V.O.F. Butchery T.F.M. Louman

Visit one of Amsterdam's most famous butcher shops , located in the Jordaan since 1892 and owned by the Louman family for six generations. In this store you will get the real Jordaan feeling while tasting the best 'ossenworst'. This is a smoked raw beef sausage with oriental spices that was already made in the early 17th century by the Amsterdam kitchen maids as a luxury delicacy for the rich Amsterdam merchants. And that's not all because we will also let you taste a typical Dutch ham, pork sausage and salted beef.

    Vishandel Centrum

Taste one of the most famous Dutch delicacies: Dutch herring. Learn why it was so important to Dutch history and the rise of the “Golden Age.” Taste for yourself why this is such a culinary gem, contrary to the cliché stories you may have heard. In addition, try the popular hot Dutch fish dish “kibbeling” (fried cod). Both used to be poor man's food and are now considered a real specialty.

    Bourgondisch Lifestyle Amsterdam

We are super proud of all our wonderful food partners and friends who make and sell the most delicious Dutch delicacies. And we think Bourgondisch Lifestyle is an extra special location that we will take you to. Not because we have the exclusive right to use their special tasting room in a centuries old Amsterdam house but also because here you will find the top Dutch and international cheeses. Owner René and his team buy, mature and refine over 300 different cheeses and sell them to numerous top restaurants at home and abroad from their “cheese fortress” an early 20th century bunker outside Amsterdam. All of these cheeses are purely artisanal and come from small local producers. Taste four different Dutch cheeses (decent pieces, no mouse bites) including, of course, the Gouda cheese with a delicious wine and crackers.

Close off your perfect food tour with a portion of warm 'bitterballen' and a drink in the former headquarters of the 17th century Dutch West-Indian Company where it was once decided to establish the colony of New Amsterdam, later to be known as New York.
