Follow a path of remembrance to Mauthausen Memorial, once one of the largest Nazi camp complexes. This guided visit from Vienna invites attentive engagement with the site and its layered histories. The tour considers the experiences of all prisoner groups—political detainees, Jews, Roma and Sinti, Spanish resistance fighters, Soviet prisoners-of-war, and others—tracing their lives through the remains of the camp.

Meet your friendly tour escort outside the Tourist Info, then hop aboard your tour bus for the two-hour journey to Mauthausen Memorial.

Upon arrival meet your guide for a carefully-led, reflective tour of the preserved grounds. Visit the prisoner’s barracks, roll call area, SS-quarters, camp prison, gas chamber, and the highly rated Mauthausen Museum with the "Room of Names". The bistro at Mauthausen Memorial serves snacks and drinks if you get hungry.

We'll take you to the Wiener-Graben quarry which is located outside of the Memorial. You'll see where the prisoners produced granite for Hitler's monumental construction projects. In the quarry you can also see the infamous "Stairs of Death".
