The very first stop of the tour is Strahov monastery, with enchanting library featured in the movie ‘Amadeus’ about Mozart. In the middle Ages, Strahov monastery was among the most essential church institutions in Bohemia. Nowadays it houses the nation’s oldest books.
Afterwards, you will walk on medieval cobblestone through delightful houses to see the majestic Cernin palace that holds many secrets.
Few steps further you will see the Loreto, which is a highlight of Prague urban landscape. It is named after a religious city in sunny Italy. Ever since its construction in the 17th century, the Loreta has been an important place of pilgrimage. It was commissioned by Czech aristocrat who was very keen to promote the legend of Santa Casa of Loreto.
Follow your guide to explore another hidden gem Vtrba garden – a beautiful Baroque garden with balustraded terraces. From the highest part of the garden, you will see magnificent views of Prague Castle and the city centre. It has a vast collection of the statues of classical gods and the paintings in the garden pavilion!
Continue your way to the Morzin Palace where the embassy of Romania is situated today. Climb the stairways to explore a quiet baroque garden decorated with fountains and statues. You will see where bees still collect nectar, grapes that grow on the fence, feel the wind which is rustling through the trees and stop for the moment to experience the beauty that surrounds you.
Finish your tour at the marvellous Waldstein Palace which is used as the headquarters of the Czech senate. Hear stories about military commander Albrecht von Wallenstein, whose fatal ambitions led him to death. Everything looks almost the same as it was in the 17th century, except for peacocks, who just wander around while you are trying to capture a photo with them.
