  Pompey's Pillar

  It is a Roman Triumphal Column that is truly famous in Alexandria and it is the largest one to be built during the Roman empire to honor Emperor Diocletian. It was made out of one piece of red granite column and it is 20.75 meters long, 2.70 meters wide at the bottom of its base, and the width of the crown at the end of the pillar is 2.30. meters

  Citadel of Qaitbay

  This picturesque fortress was built during the 14th century to defend Alexandria from the advances of the Ottoman Empire and it was established in 1477 AD by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qa'it Bay in the location of the legendary Pharos Lighthouse which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
