Located in central Sri Lanka, the Knuckles Range gets its name from the series of peaks that resemble clenched fists when viewed from certain locations in the Kandy district.
Your adventure begins with a car/van transfer from Kandy to the Knuckle Range. As you embark on the trek, you will pass through fascinating landscapes including homegrown spice gardens, lush vegetable plantations, picturesque paddy fields, sprawling tea estates, intriguing pig forests and expansive plateaus.
The trek spans approximately 8 km one way and upon reaching the end of the trail, you will have the opportunity to refresh yourself with a refreshing swim at the base of a stunning waterfall. On the way, be prepared to encounter fascinating species of wildlife like deer, barking deer, deer monkeys and various types of lizards. Your friendly guide will help you explore the must-see sights to capture the best of your trekking trip.

The range takes its name from a series of recumbent folds and peaks in the west of the massif which resembles the knuckles of clenched fist when viewed from certain locations in the Kandy District. Trekking adventure in the Knuckles Mountain Range takes you through lush forests, tea plantations, and waterfalls.
The Knuckles Forest Reserve is the protected area that covers the whole of the Knuckles Mountain range. Along with Horton Plains National Park and the Peak Wilderness Forest region, it forms Sri Lanka’s Central Highlands. The whole area was collectively declared a Natural World Heritage Site in 2010.
