This tour visits world-famous Zaanse Schans, a cheese farm and the fishing village of Volendam. Here you will board a 50 minute boat tour to see more fishing villages such as the former island of Marken.

At Zaanse Schans, a small neighborhood with green timbered houses, workshops and industrial windmills, your tour guide will tell you all about the sights and history of this unique place.
Visit the wooden shoe workshop with your tour guide to learn about Dutch clogs, to admire a large varety of clogs and to watch a demonstration to see how clogs are made.
Visit a working industrial windmill to experience how these powerhouses boosted the local economy. You will learn about how the windmill operates and you will be given the chance to admire the view of Zaanse Schans, the meadows and other windmills around.
Visit a cheese farm to visit the stable of the Jersey cows and learn more about the cheese farm and its cows. After this, you will go to the cheese shop of the farm to hear an explanation about how Dutch Gouda cheese is made and you will be able to taste various cheeses at the cheese shop.
Board a covered boat for a 50 minute boat ride with your local skipper as your expert guide. You will see historical fishing villages and experience a relaxing boat ride on the Gouwzee, which once was the rough and unpredictable inner sea Zuiderzee directly connected to the North Sea.
After your tour guide has explained everything about this world-famous fisherman town you will be able to admire this place for yourselves to have lunch in one of the many restaurants, have your picture taken in traditional Dutch costume or to wander around yourselves. After the free time, your tour guide will walk you to a boat for a boat trip.
