A three day adventure to Akureyri and Mývatn from Reykjavík visiting Goðafoss, Dimmuborgir, Námaskarð, Krafla, Jarðböðin and Tröllaskagi Peninsula. The scenery on the northern tip on Tröllaskagi peninsula is quite amazing, open ocean, facing the Arctic.

We head towards Borgarnes and to Langjökull, the second largest glacier in Iceland, where you go on an ice tunnel journey. We will stop at Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls before heading to the north, passing Grábrók on the way to Akureyri.
On our way to the beautiful Mývatn area, we stop by the amazing Goðafoss, „Waterfall of the Gods“. We continue to Lake Mývatn and Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters. We walk through Dimmuborgir, amazing geological wonder, and then head on to Námaskarð, a beautifully coloured geothermal area. Krafla volcano is nearby. We end the day in Jarðböðin, a relaxing hot nature bath. In the afternoon we arrive back in Akureyri. In the afternoon a short city tour and dinner on your own.
We drive the Tröllaskagi Peninsula on our way back to Reykjavík and visit some of the small fishing villages along the way. Hofsós a small village, stop there for lunch or coffee. The scenery on the northern tip on this peninsula is quite amazing, open ocean, facing the Arctic.
