On our essential Free Tour we offer you an extensive historical and cultural introduction to our beautiful city.
During the tour you will walk through the streets of Candelaria, La Concordia and Las Aguas. During the tour we will talk about the beginnings of the capital, the indigenous tribe that inhabited Bogota, the legend of El Dorado, the colonization, the independence of Colombia, the most important events for the country as the Bogotazo and the violence in Colombia; we will talk about important celebrities such as Fernando Botero and Gabriel García Márquez; besides knowing how a Colombian lives in Bogota, education, art, gastronomy, architecture and different essential tricks for the stay in the capital. This walk will last approximately 3 hours.

The meeting point will be at the Plaza de Bolivar in front of the church, the Catedral Primada. Our guide will be holding a green umbrella with the name of the company, Oaca Colombia.
The tour ends at Rosario Square
You will understand how the city of Bogota began and get to know the most important buildings in the country.
At this stop, you will be able to contemplate one of the wonders of Colombia, as well as the place where Simón Bolívar lived.
From outside the museum, you will get to know the cultural block of La Candelaria and learn about its importance. Additionally, we will talk about the life of the artist Botero.
You will visit the foundation square of Bogota and learn about its importance. You will also learn why the drink of Bogota, chicha, was prohibited.
Inside this market square, you can drink the traditional drink of Bogota (chicha), or have a typical Colombian juice, or buy a souvenir.
At this stop, you will have a nice view of Monserrate and you will know how to get to this beautiful hill. You will also know the square where Gabriel García Márquez used to go to have social meetings.
At the monument to Gaitan, you will learn who he was and why he was so important to Colombia. You will also learn about the Bogotazo and what it has to do with the violence in Colombia.
This square is characterized by its emerald market. At this stop, you will know what we are talking about and perhaps see how we market this somewhat informal stone. There in our final stop, we will give you recommendations for your stay in our beautiful city and we will recommend which restaurants to visit.
