    Caoling Historic Trail (Tsaoling Trail)

Caoling Historic Trail is a historic mountain trail connecting Gongliao in New Taipei City and Dali in Yilan County. Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, it is one of the few remaining historic trails in Taiwan. Today, the trail is a popular hiking route offering beautiful mountain scenery and a chance to experience Taiwan’s natural and cultural heritage. For this tour, we will hike from Dali Tiangong Temple to the Tiger Character Stele and return along the same route. The round trip is about 3 km and takes approximately 3 hours. Hiking poles and rain gear are recommended. Please note that the blooming silver grass is a natural seasonal phenomenon, so the scenery may vary depending on the day.

Surrounded by the lush green mountains of Caoling and facing the vast Pacific Ocean, the temple offers beautiful views of Turtle Island. With its impressive architecture and stunning scenery, it is an important cultural and spiritual landmark in the area. The temple is dedicated to the Jade Emperor and serves as a major local center of worship.
