Your day begins with an early morning pick-up from your Bali hotel by private vehicle and English speaking chauffeur. Admire the views on the 2-hour drive to Ulundanu Beratan Temple at Bedugul, a complex of tiered Hindu temples, a striking example of Balinese architecture. The water temple was built in the 17th century in honor of Dewi Danu, Goddess of water. After posing for photos in the beautiful temple by the lake, continue through the countryside to the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, the largest in Bali. Take a walk through the UNESCO-listed rice terraces; one of Bali’s most photographed sights. Along the way, learn about the pioneering ‘subak’ system – the Balinese cooperative irrigation system – for which the terraces are known, as you admire the views over the rice paddies and and pause for lunch (own expense) at the local restaurant. Then in the afternoon, arrive at Tanah Lot, a rock formation just off the coast of Bali, where a temple sits on the rocks and offers a great place to take some photos to have an unforgettable moment in Bali. There are several points to see this temple, all of which boast views. You may spot black and white sea snakes at the base of the rocks that are said to guard the temple from evil spirits. Your day trip ends with return transfer to your hotel.
