Pick-up from hotels within the Middle Ring Road of Shanghai
In the morning, your professional guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby, and after around one hour’s drive in a comfortable minivan with chauffeur, you will arrive at Zhujiajiao Water Town, a quiet and peaceful water village dominated by canals and walkways. Escorted by your guide, you will walk around the alleyways, take a traditional boat ride on the small canals and snap photos of the pretty bridges and traditional residential houses. Zhujiajiao is not only famous for its water town scenery, also for its various local food and snacks. You could try some local food at your own expense.
Afterwards, drive back to the downtown to visit Yu Garden. It is Shanghai's best-known ancient private garden built in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911 AD). All the ancient towers and halls, green lakes, fantastic rockery and lush trees there cannot be missed.
When finishing the visit in Yu Garden, there is about half an hour for you to hang out at Yu Market next to the garden. The pseudo-classic architectures lie along ancient streets to form a market selling souvenirs and snacks. You may find interesting gadgets there.
At last, your guide will accompany you to visit the Bund, a must-see spot in Shanghai as well as a great shooting place for charming night views. It is a 1500-meter long waterfront promenade along the Huangpu River. Check out colonial architecture on the west side of the Bund, while on the eastern side of the river is the booming Pudong New Area, where a lot of skyscrapers are rising up to the sky, including the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao Tower, etc. After that, you will be escorted back to your hotel. If you want to enjoy the wonderful night scenes of the Bund, you may stay there for a further stroll and go back by yourself. From the Bund, you can also walk northward for about 20 minutes to the famous Nanjing Road, which attracts quite a few visitors with malls and restaurants. Your guide will offer you the directions.
