Welcome to join the Colombia coffee tour! Upon arrival at the airport of Bogota, you'll find our guide waiting at arrival hall and ready to send you to check in the hotel. The rest time of the day is free for you. After a good rest, you could go for a walk at surrounding places.
After breakfast, we will go to Paloquemao, a traditional as well as the largest fruit market worthy to explore in Bogota.
Our next stop is Mount Monserrate at the city center. Here, you can walk to its top where you could have a sweeping view of the city's landscape.
Then we will drive to visit the La Candelaria, home to old colonial buildings and some of the most popular museums of Bogota. After arrival, we will first visit Plaza de Bolivar, wandering at the cobblestone square and discovering surrounding historical buildings like Palace of Justice, the Cathedral Primada and National Capitol etc.
Then we will walk across the square to visit Museo de Botero, a popular art museum with an extraordinary collection of paintings and sculptures by Colombia's famous artist Fernando Botero.
Then, go to another museum called Museo del Oro characterized by plenty of pre-Hispanic pieces of gold.
Your tour in Colombia today will start with a 1.5-hour drive to Laguna de Guatavita, a scenic forest-fringed crater lake. The local Muisca regard it as a holy site and they used to throw gold offerings into the deep lake when conducting rituals. It often rains there. Don't forget to take an umbrella with you.
Next, we will drive to visit Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá, a spectacular catholic church caved into a salt mine which is 180 meters (197 yards) below the ground. Last, we will drive back to Bogota and send you to catch the flight to Armenia. On arrival, the local guide will transfer you to the hotel.
In the morning, we will go for a hike at Cocora Valley amid misty green hill, a sanctuary to protect the national tree wax palm and species dependent on it. The palm tree here can grow up to 80 meters (262 feet), making them the world's tallest ones. Your guide will discuss with you and recommend an appropriate hiking route to meet your physical strength.
When the hike is over, we will drive to visit a lade-back colonial village called Filandia highlighted by plenty of chic restaurants and cafes hidden in the brightly-painted houses.
Today's Colombia coffee tour is to sightsee the world-famous coffee plantation Hacienda San Alberto, located an hour's drive from your hotel. Accompanied by the professional guide, you will observe the whole process of how the awarded coffee is made from beans and get a better understanding of the variety tastes of Colombia coffee and its plantation history. What's more? You could also carry a basket and experience the joy of picking coffee beans.
Then we will transfer you to Pereira to take a flight to Cartagena, a port city facing the Caribbean Sea. Be met and transferred to the hotel on arrival.
Today we will explore the Monastery of San Pedro Claver and its church.
There we will also tour abound the San Felipe Castle, which was perched on a hill holding a strategic position to defend against attacks no matter via land or sea.
Then, head to Convento de La Popa, a 17th-century convent situated atop Cartagena's highest hills with elegant stone verandas and beautiful courtyard. As we walk along the cobbled streets, you could also try some delicious snacks and tropical fruits at street vendors.
In the morning, the driver will transfer you to the pier, where you will take a 45-minute boat ride to Islas del Rosario. After arrival at the beautiful island, you can will take a leisurely walk at the sun-soaked beach and later go snorkeling or scuba diving in the crystal clear turquoise waters, sightseeing unspoiled coral reefs and swimming with colorful tropical fish. Besides, you could enjoy some free time to discover other places on the island. Finally, sail back to Cartagena and return to the hotel by yourself.
