    Kourtaliotiko Gorge

    When we arrive at Kourtaliotiko Gorge, you’ll immediately notice the dramatic cliffs rising high above us and the strong wind moving through the canyon, the sound you hear is what gave the gorge its name. We’ll stop at a scenic viewpoint to admire the impressive landscape and take photos of the steep rock walls that make this gorge so famous. If you’d like, you can walk down the steps toward the river, where you’ll discover the beautiful natural waterfalls hidden inside the gorge. These waterfalls feed the Megas Potamos River, creating a peaceful spot surrounded by lush greenery and fresh mountain air. You’ll have time to explore, take photos, and for the more adventurous why not swim under the waterfalls! This is one of the most refreshing and scenic stops in southern Crete.

    Preveli Beach

    When we arrive at Preveli Beach, you’ll see one of the most unique landscapes on the island. This beautiful beach sits where the Megas Potamos River meets the Libyan Sea, creating a stunning combination of river, palm forest, and sandy beach. As you walk down to the beach, you’ll notice the famous palm forest of Preveli Palm Forest, which makes the area feel almost tropical. You can relax on the beach, swim in the clear blue sea, or take a short walk along the river under the shade of the palm trees. Many travelers enjoy walking a little further into the palm forest, where you’ll find small pools and peaceful spots along the river, perfect for photos or simply enjoying the natural beauty of southern Crete.

    When we arrive at Spili, you’ll step into a charming traditional village located in the mountains of southern Crete. Spili is famous for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful stone houses, and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. In the village square you’ll see the well known Venetian fountain with a row of lion heads, where fresh spring water has been flowing for centuries. You’re welcome to taste the cool mountain water and take photos of this unique landmark. You’ll also have some free time to walk through the small streets, visit local shops, visit the folkore museum or relax at a traditional place and enjoy a coffee or lunch while experiencing authentic Cretan village life.
