What to expect

Join Erna and her husband, Thanos, in their seaside village outside Thessaloniki for an authentic and immersive Greek cooking experience. Step into their welcoming home and discover the flavors of northern Greece through a hands-on cooking class led by Erna.

You’ll help prepare a variety of traditional side dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients such as feta or anchovies wrapped in wine leaves, fried aubergines stuffed with herbs and cheese, and a unique take on tzatziki made with purslane (strained yogurt with garlic, olive oil, lemon, and the peppery wild green). The cooking lasts about 1–2 hours and is designed to be fun, approachable, and deliciously rewarding.

After cooking, sit down to a full meal with dishes you helped create, along with others prepared by Erna, paired with Greek wine and served in the dining room or garden, depending on the weather.

Wrap up with coffee and homemade loukoumi (traditional sweets) as you relax and swap travel stories with your hosts. It’s more than a cooking class; it’s a heartfelt taste of Greek hospitality and culture.
