Sapporo Clock Tower:A popular spot that has become a symbol of Sapporo, this 130-year-old clock tower is the oldest of its kind in Japan, and is instantly recognisable with its red roof and white walls. It is lit up at night, and one can take pictures amidst its mystical atmosphere.
Odori Park:This park stretches for approximately 2km through the centre of Sapporo, and is filled with an abundance of nature. With seasonal plants in bloom, as well as many statues and a fountain, this place is not only an oasis for locals, but also a spot with many great photogenic places, including the Sapporo TV Tower, a symbol of the city.
Mount Moiwa・Sapporo Mt. Moiwa Ropeway:Be mesmerized by fantastic views of Sapporo City and the surrounding majestic nature here! Mount Moiwa is the tallest mountain in Sapporo, and was formerly used by the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido, as a lookout point. Take the ropeway and mini-cable cars up to its peak, and experience a 360-degree panorama with a view that will take your breath away!
Susukino-dori:Ask where the busliest downtown district in Sapporo is, and just about everyone will point you to Susukino! At the Susukino street crossing, there are two large neon signs of two alcohol brands representative of Hokkaido, Nikka Highball and Sapporo Beer. Take a shot or two with these signs in the background to let everyone know that you have been to Sapporo!
Tanuki-Koji Shopping Street:Tanuki-Koji Shopping Street is the oldest of its kind in Hokkaido, with a history that goes back to 150 years ago! Over 200 shops can be found in this arcade that stretches for approximately 900 metres, and it is fun to even just stroll through the arcade and window shop! At this shopping street, we will introduce places where you can enjoy shime parfaits, a trend in Sapporo where people have elaborate parfaits to cap off a night out drinking.
