Your knowledgeable local English-speaking tour guide and private car driver will come and pick you up at Guangzhou airport (Gate 53 of Terminal 2, the exit for international flight travellers), holding a sign with your name written on it. You can choose to store your luggage at the airport or put your luggage in our car/van to start the tour. Message your guide if it takes too long for queuing at the Free Visa application counter before you meet.
Visit the Lung of The City-Baiyun Mountain, it is the peak of Guangzhou and offers high green coverage which generates lot a fresh air and oxygen. Take scenic electric shuttle car to go up and cable car to come down. Step on the peak square to have a panoramic overlook view of the city.
Visit Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, a magnificent auditorium almost 100 years old, now serves the purpose as a musical concert hall, commemorating Dr Sun Yat-Sen the father of Democratic China who led the democratic revolution overthrowed the feudal society Qing Dynasty in 1911. It's located in a beautiful garden where some interesting unique trees could be observed.
Visit Six Banyan Temple, a 1500 years old buddhist temple with unique architectures like flower pagoda and gold plated big buddha statues, observe citizen folks praying and learn about religious culture and local practise in daily life.
Lunch at a local tea house restaurant for traditional Chinese tea and delicious Cantonese dim sum, not touristy place not fancy restaurant. Watch the waitress practise tea ceremony and learn about local dinning culture, table manner and tea etiquette from your tour guide.
Visit Xiguan old house community and view the traditional Cantonese style architecture Qilou building, have a walk into a local neighbourhood and observe the iconic wooden sliding doors for previous noble class family. Your guide will share with you interesting historical stories for Door God and local people's life in old downtown backstreet alleys.
Visit Flower City Square in new downtown of Guangzhou to view many skyscrapers and modern unique architectures including Guangzhou Opera House, Haixinsha Island Asian Games Park, Guangdong Provincial Museum, Guangzhou Library, Guangzhou Children's Palace as well as the new landmark of Guangzhou-"slim lady" Canton Tower.
If time allows and you are interested, opt for and try on the popular Pearl River cruise along the mainstream of the Pearl River in city center, embrace with nice wind and glide through under several bridges, observe beautiful views on both side of the river, especially the gorgeous Canton Tower lit up at night.
If time allows and you are interested, go up to visit Canton Tower by a fast lift(carry you from ground floor to 108th floor indoor observation deck within 90 seconds), have a panoramic overlook view of the city. Reach up to the top deck outdoor area and try on the famous bubble tram-the world's tallest horizontal ferris wheel that travels slowly around the perimeter of the Tower and guarantee every angle overlooking the city.
Visit Shamian Island, a colonial area by French and British after the second Opium War in 1856 in Qing Dynasty. It's the only place in Guangzhou you can see so many western style architectures(most of them over 100 years old) used to serve the purpose of different country's consulate, bank, office, police station, barrack, church and so on. It is one of the key tourist attractions in Guangzhou visited by many young people and brides and grooms always like to come and take wedding photos for marriage memory.
