    Central Municipal Athens Market is a food hall located on the ground floor of the Theodorou Building in downtown Athens, Greece. It has a large food hall with 450 meters long with over 50 stores and is open to visitors every day. from 10am to 2pm. The Central Municipal Athens Market was founded in 2007 by the Municipality of Athens and is managed by the City of Athens Public Markets Department. It is located at 10 Kydathineon Street, which is close to Omonia Square in central Athens. The market has over 50 stores, including eateries and food stalls offering a variety of local, Greek and international foods. The market was refurbished in Summer 2014 with the renovation of the ground floor and a new air-conditioning system. It also features an elevator to take visitors up to street level. The project received an award from New Urbanism International for its design by architect George Mouzourakis, which is based on an ancient Athenian basilica design.
