Explore Peru on a 10 day tour from Lima. Fly to the Amazon Jungle and see native wildlife in their natural habitat. Visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas and see Machu Picchu and the city of Cusco. Then, take a scenic tourist coach ride to Lake Titicaca and be amazed by the unique Uros floating islands made of totora reed and Taquile island.
You will be greeted at the Lima Airport and taken to your hotel to spend the day at your leisure. Overnight in Lima
In the morning (3 hours before your flight), your private driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Lima Airport in time for your hour domestic flight to Puerto Maldonado (Please send us details of your purchased flight). Upon your arrival at the airport, your representative will take you to the river port, where your Amazon jungle adventure will begin.
Then, you will board a private boat and take a river journey to our lodge. You will have a great experience taking part in the Trail System Adventure, which will allow you to discover the incredible realm of the Amazon forest. You will see exotic rainforest trees and Amazonian lizards, birds and insects. You will then return to the lodge to relax and enjoy a fantastic lunch. During the afternoon, you will be treated to a private Twilight River Boat Ride where you will witness the enchanting transformation of the Amazon jungle from day to night and the new creatures that emerge from the darkness. Keep your eyes to the banks as you explore the river and search for nighttime species, such as nightjars, owls, capybaras and caimans. After waking up to the sounds of birds and the sunrise, you'll enjoy a nutritious breakfast with local fruits and juices before departing on your first excursion of the day. The excursion may include a paddleboat ride, a visit to a clay lick, an observation tower, fishing, a visit to Monkey Island, or a visit to a local farm; activities depend on the lodge (based on availability). Feel free to ask your tour guide any questions you may have about daily life in the Amazon rainforest, as well as the plant and animal species you'll encounter. At Cultural Immersion, we only work with lodges that employ local tour guides from the region. They grew up in the region and have a deep and special relationship with the rainforest. They are always happy to share their knowledge and experiences with our guests. We highly recommend not missing the spectacular sunset over the river.
After the last morning excursion through the rivers of the Tambopata region, you will take the boat back to the town of Puerto Maldonado. After picking up your stored luggage, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your domestic flight to Cusco. Upon arrival to the Incan Empire of Cusco We will then take you to your hotel, where you will have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure.
Meet your guide and enjoy a walking Cusco city tour visiting the local neighborhood of San Blas, which is the most scenic area of the city and you will find many art galleries and enjoy the local contemporary art.
You will visit the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha)
You will visit the different sections of this old market such us fruit section, artisan section, and more. Learn about the local variety of products and ingredients. Then, head back to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco.
Visit Maras and see its traditional streets. Admire the culture and people wearing traditional clothing. Then, see the circular terraces of Moray and enjoy a delicious lunch in a local house
After Moray, we will head to the Salt Terraces of Maras and learn about an ancient pre-Incan method of producing salt. After that, you will visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo.
You will visit the impressive Ollantaytambo ruins, temples and terraces.You will even enter an original house to observe the building and see how people used to live. After your Sacred Valley tour, you'll be taken to the Ollantaytambo train station to take the 1.5-hour train journey to Aguas Calientes.
Visit the magnificent site of Machu Picchu ´The Lost City of the Incas. Enjoy a 2-hour guided tour and see the Temples of the Sun and the Condor, aqueducts and houses, and learn all about the Incan Sacred Terraces. Explore the site on your own doing an optional activity and then return to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon, where you will take the train to Ollantaytambo and private van to Cusco. Once there, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Cusco.
Head to the bus station for your 9-hour scenic coach journey to Lake Titicaca. Make a stop at Andahuaylillas Church, known as the Andean Sistine Chapel.
Afterward, you will make a stop at the town of Racchi to visit the Incan temple of Wiracocha and discover this construction with adobe brick walls of 11 meters high. Then, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch of traditional Peruvian dishes at Sicuani. You will then reach the midway point between Cusco and Puno which is also the highest point of the journey, La Raya standing 14,100 feet (4,300 meters). Continue to Pukara.
Visit Pukara, famous for its ceramic production and its most famous figurines, the two bulls. At 5pm, you will reach Puno, which lies on the banks of Lake Titicaca. A representative will be waiting for you at the bus station to transfer you to your hotel.
Today, we will meet you at your hotel and taken to the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. During the morning, you will visit the unique Uros Floating Islands, which have been built of only totora reeds. You will be astonished to see how the locals use the totora reeds to build many objects essential in their daily lives. As part of your visit you will explore the lake with a trip around the islands by totora reed canoe. After the totara reed canoe ride, you will continue on to Taquile Island via motor fast boat. You will have time to relax and enjoy the stunning scenery of Lake Titicaca for one hour.
Once you have arrived to the island, you will walk around the area and appreciate the beautiful landscapes. After your visit to Taquile Island you will enjoy a locally prepared lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will cross the lake via boat and we will transfer you back to your hotel.
You will be transferred to the Juliaca Airport for your domestic flight to Lima (Please send us details of your purchased flight). You arrive in Lima in time for your connecting international flight.
