What makes this tour unique is the chance to experience three of Nairobi’s most iconic wildlife attractions in a single, well-organized day without feeling rushed. You begin with a sunrise game drive in Nairobi National Park, the only national park located inside a capital city, where you can see lions, rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, and more roaming freely with the city skyline in the background. After the park, you visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a respected elephant rescue center where orphaned elephants are raised and slowly prepared for release back into the wild. This gives you a rare opportunity to learn about conservation efforts directly from the source. You then enjoy a relaxed break at a local restaurant before heading to the Giraffe Center, where you can feed endangered Rothschild’s giraffes from a raised platform. The blend of wildlife, close-up encounters, and impactful conservation work makes the tour truly memorable and different from any other Nairobi experience.

What to expect

Your day begins with a 5:30 am pick-up from your hotel for an early drive to Nairobi National Park, the only national park found inside a capital city anywhere in the world. As the morning light spreads across the plains, you’ll enjoy a smooth and unhurried game drive with opportunities to spot lions, rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and many bird species, all set against the dramatic backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline.

After exploring the park, you’ll head to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where orphaned elephants are rescued, cared for, and gradually prepared for release back into the wild. Here, you’ll learn about the challenges elephants face, how each calf is raised, and the conservation work the trust has carried out for decades.

Your guide will then take you to a local restaurant for coffee or lunch, where you can also browse galleries and look at souvenirs.

The final stop is the Giraffe Center, where you can feed endangered Rothschild’s giraffes before returning to your hotel.
