Our team will be waiting for you at the Cusco airport to take you to the hotel where you’ll try the famous Coca tea, known for helping with any altitude sickness symptoms. After checking in at the hotel, our team will explain all the sights with a map of the city, also indicating the restaurants, exchange offices, shops, and more.
Right at the heart of the historic center lies the so-called Temple of the Sun, the principal worship center of the Inca culture. Here, we’ll have some time to explore the site as well as the current catholic church built on top of its settlements.
The Cathedral of Cusco is the perfect example of colonial baroque architecture. As most of the Spanish buildings found in the city center, its foundations are the ancient structure of an important Inca palace.
Following the itinerary, the Sacsayhuaman fortress is our next stop. The impressive megalithic structure has withstood centuries of earthquakes and holds stones that can measure up to 5 meters and weigh over 120 tons.
A few meters away from Sacsayhuaman lies another important ceremonial center to the Incas. The Qenqo archeological site was a ritual-based location where, according to historians, rituals and sacrifices took place.
Going further up the mountains, we’ll find an archeological site with a fortress-like appearance. It is believed that Puca Pucara served as a military and administrative center.
Tambomachay is one of the perfect examples of Inca hydraulic engineering. It is composed of irrigation channels and three water fountains that continue to provide water until the current date.
If you love alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas as much as we do, then this is the place for you! Awana Kancha is an animal shelter and an exhibition of Peruvian textiles.
The Archeological Site of Pisac is located at 3,300 meters above sea level, offering incredible views of its surroundings and the Sacred Valley.
It is one of the largests local markets in the whole region. The Pisac Artisan Market comprises a diverse cultural expression, where the most talented artisans sell their handmade art pieces.
After a whole morning full of history and adventure, now it’s time to take a break and enjoy the famous peruvian gastronomy in a buffet restaurant. At Tunupa Restaurant, you will be surrounded by the soothing sound of the Urubamba River.
The small town of Ollantaytambo is one of the perfect examples of Inca urbanism. Its cobbled streets will leave you breathless as well as the Inca open draining system. You will also visit the archeological site, recognized as the only place that defeated the Spanish army during colonization for almost 50 years.
After exploring the village of Ollantaytambo, We’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes, a town located in the middle of the mountains of the Peruvian jungle, here you’ll find hotels, restaurants, bars, and handicraft shops.
Our team will pick you up from the hotel to board the bus up to Machu Picchu in the morning. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu’s main entrance. Our professional guide will provide details and information about this wonder of the world, including the mysteries and fascinating facts of the Inca culture. After our time in Machu Picchu, we’ll go back to Aguas Calientes to return to the city of Cusco.
On this occasion, the train will take you to Poroy Train Station, which is located 30 minutes away from Cusco. Our team will be waiting for you to take you back to the hotel in Cusco.
Here is when your adventure starts! Our team will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the bus terminal, where you’ll have a briefing about the day’s activities. The first stop will be the San Pedro Church, the main attraction in Andahuaylillas, a beautiful church structured with a unique baroque architecture and beautiful religious paintings and murals.
Our next stop will be Raqchi, an important Inca settlement located a few hours away from Cusco. The so-called Temple of Wiracocha had an important meaning to the Inca people and occupied a large territory with walls that reached over 10 meters of height.
After a morning full of history and adventure, you’d surely be hungry! Sicuani is a small town located on the way to Puno, where you’ll have a buffet lunch and a well-deserved rest before heading out to our next stop.
Now it’s time to appreciate the exuberant nature of the region. La Raya is located at 4,335 m.a.s.l. and it offers an outstanding view of the valley and the Chimboya snow-capped mountain. Here you’ll also find an authentic artisan market with the best options for souvenirs!
Following the itinerary, the so-called Kalisaya ruins await to be discovered! The complex was built by the ancient Pucara civilization, which preceded the Incas and still left a mark in the vast Peruvian highlands.
After a day of adventure, now it’s time to continue to our last destination. The city of Puno, home of folklore in Peru, will receive you with open arms! Our team will be waiting for you at the bust terminal to take you to your accommodation.
Our team will pick you up from your accommodation so we can start the adventure. It will take us about 30 minutes to get to the Uros Floating Islands. On the way, you’ll be able to glance at the beautiful scenery of the lake. Once we arrive, you’ll see a group of man made islands where the Uros people live. They will teach you about their customs, traditions, and how they manage to build these totora reed islands.
Finishing our visit, we’ll continue to Taquile Island! There you’ll learn about their culture and traditions; locals are skilled craftsmen, as they have kept their traditions alive through generations. After our great experience on the island and a well-deserved lunch, we’ll head back to Puno to enjoy the rest of the evening.
At three and a half hours before your flight departure, our team will be waiting for you at the hotel to take you to Juliaca’s airport near Puno. This will be the last of our services.
