Swakopmund is a quaint little town bordering on the Atlantic Ocean. Here you get the chance to kayak with seals and head out on a guided tour of Sandwich Harbour where the dunes meet the ocean.
Upon arrival you will be met by our friendly shuttle service and transferred to the car hire depot in Windhoek to collect your trusty vehicle.
The adventure begins as soon as you touch ground at Hosea Kutako International Airport. Our friendly shuttle driver will be waiting for you at the arrival gates. Catch your first glimpses of Windhoek through the car window as we transport you directly to the car hire depot, for vehicle collection.
After vehicle hand-over make your way to south on the D1275 to NamibGrens. The perfect stop-over en-route to Sossusvlei. It is located only 60 km from the small trading post of Solitaire.
Today the road takes you to the oldest desert in the world. You can stock up on fuel at Solitaire. The next two nights will have you camping, inside the vast and glorious Sossusvlei area. A salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes, located in the southern part of the Namib Desert and in the Namib-Naukluft National Park of Namibia. Look forward to preparing your meals on gas cookers or a fire.
Sossusvlei is one of the major visitor attractions of Namibia. Expect to be amazed as you witness the sun-rise and sun-set over the towering red sand dunes. Rise early to witness the colours change over the dunes, and take in the beauty of this majestic piece of nature.
Today you are heading to the quaint and small coastal town of Swakopmund. (German for "Mouth of the Swakop") Passing through Solitaire en-route, which is known in The Netherlands because of the book of the same name, by Dutch author Ton van der Lee, telling about his stay in this place. It is located in central Namibia near the Namib-Naukluft National Park and currently hosts the only cafe, gasoline station and bakery. There is also a small general dealer, the only one between the dunes at Sossusvlei and the coast at Walvis Bay, as well as all the way to the capital of Windhoek.

Today you will head back to Windhoek and return the rental vehicle, to the car hire depot.
After the vehicle has been checked in, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
