  Wawel Royal Castle

  The Wawel Hill is for Krakow what the Acropolis is for ancient Athens or the Capitol is for Rome. The rocky hill towering over the bank of the Vistula has been the seat of secular and church authorities for centuries, and today it is the most visited and one of the most important museums in Poland. It collects collections of paintings, graphics, sculptures, fabrics, goldsmiths, militaria, porcelain and furniture. You will visit one permanent exhibition with a guide inside the castle to see an illustration of royal life.

  Wawel Cathedral

  You will enter with a guide inside the Wawel Cathedral. You will learn more about its patron saints, St. Stanislaw and Waclaw, you will be able to admire the craftsmanship of masters of different eras, you will understand the meaning of many symbols hidden here. In the chapels and vaults of the cathedral, you will stop at some of the most interesting tombs of kings and nobles to listen to curiosities about their earthly lives and learn more about local culture and history. For believers, the cathedral is primarily a sacred place, associated with many saints and martyrs, and in more recent history with the figure of Pope John Paul II.

  St Mary's Basilica

  The origins of the magnificent St. Mary's Basilica date back to the times when there was no Market Square in Krakow. Around the church and in its interior there are hundreds of curiosities and stories recalled during the visit. See where sinners were put in stocks, listen to the broken bugle call from the tower and find out why it is a different size than the other one. Step inside and admire the wonderful chapels, ornate stained glass windows and groin vaults, and especially see the late medieval altar funded by wealthy townspeople.

• The Wawel Cathedral is an active place of religious worship. During religious, state or jubilee events or visits of important guests, admission to the cathedral, royal tombs and the bell tower may be suspended without announcing the reasons. In such a situation, the Organizer reserves the right to replace the entrance to the Cathedral with another one within the castle complex.
• A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders must be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
