Experience one of the most unique activities in Mauritius: an Underwater Sea Walk. You will be picked up in the morning in a private taxi, and taken to the northwest of the island, near Grand Baie. The Underwater Sea Walk is activity suitable for everyone, even non-swimmers! You are taken on a short boat ride offshore. As you begin to descend to the sea bed, you are equipped with a helmet that will enable you to breathe normally. You can discover the beautiful coral reefs and fish! The helmet keeps your head completely dry, so you can even wear glasses or contacts. Guides are there all along to make sure that you have fun in perfect safety. Welcome to one of the longest beaches on the island! Popular with locals on the weekend, but much quieter during the week, this beach offers shallow turquoise waters and a backdrop of casuarina trees. It also features several food options that you can savour while soaking in the beauty of the beach.
In the historical village of Pamplemousses, you will visit the famous Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, where you will get to see the giant waterlilies and 85 varieties of palm trees from around the world. You will also discover the various spices and medicinal plants and learn about the various endemic and imported plants in the garden.
Notre Dame Auxiliatrice, also known as "The Red Church" is a beloved landmark located in the picturesque town of Cap Malheureux, in the far northwest of the island. The church makes an excellent photo opportunity against the backdrop of the stunning Indian Ocean. Also visible from Cap Malheureux is the famous island of Coin de Mire, located almost due north of Mauritius.
