Weather Alerts

Areas of fog developing this evening and overnight, dense in places: UPDATED

East Midlands | East of England | London & South East England | West Midlands Nov 6, 09:00 PM - Nov 7, 11:00 AM
Severity: Moderate Urgency: Immediate

Information on update: Parts of East Anglia removed from warning, which has also been extended a little further west and northwest to account for latest observations and data. Clearing skies over southeast England this evening and overnight, which has already led to the development of mist and some patchy fog, is likely to allow increasingly widespread and in places dense fog to form. Visibility will fall below 100m in some places. The fog will gradually lift and clear to mist and haze during Saturday morning, persisting longest where visibilities are poorest early on. For further details see https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings

Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, leaving extra journey time, or amending plans if necessary. Make sure you know how to switch on your fog lights, and check they are working before setting off on your journey. Bus and train services, as well as flights and ferry travel may also be affected; check for updates from your travel company and follow their advice.

Event: Yellow fog warning Certainty: Likely Category: Met
