Pros:

The location is excellent, very convenient and one of the strongest aspects of the hotel. Staff were also very good, friendly and trying their best, which is appreciated.

Cons:

We were not informed of any major maintenance works at the time of booking or during check-in, and there was no note even placed in the room. This lack of transparency is not acceptable and significantly affects the guest experience. Overall quality control needs improvement, the gaps in communication, cleanliness, and consistency indicate a lack of proper oversight.

This stay ended on a very negative note, I left to another hotel
Pros:

Excellent location with strong heritage value. The setting itself is beautiful and full of character. It’s a pity that such a unique and well-located property is not matched by the same level of management and service.

The F&B offering is also one of the best and stands out positively.

Cons:

Complete lack of transparency and very poor management. I was assured that only minor works were ongoing, yet I was woken up startled by drilling noise at 10AM in Ramadan.

Even after reporting the issue, the work continued. This shows a clear lack of respect for guest comfort. If works are happening, they must be communicated honestly. Also drilling cannot be described as “minor” and timings should be clearly shared so guests can plan accordingly.

Cleanliness and overall standards were far from what is expected of a 4-star hotel, worn towels and bath mats still in rotation, basic room issues and overall weak quality control. Service handling was also far below standard, with repeated issues not addressed despite repeated feedback across stays. When the same issues continue with no real improvement, it feels dismissive.

Poor management with lack of control over standards made the stay unlivable, moved out!
Pros:

Excellent location, very convenient and one of the hotel’s strongest points. Staff were friendly and tried their best to assist.

Cons:

Very poor management and lack of transparency. I specifically confirmed before booking that all major maintenance works were completed, yet I experienced repeated drilling noise during my stay. Being woken up suddenly at 10 AM during Ramadan by loud drilling was extremely disruptive.
Housekeeping noise was and is always a constant issue in Cecil. Despite repeated complaints, loud staff conversations work-related and personal continued in the corridors every morning starting at 9am, waking me up even with the DND sign on the door.
Cleanliness standards need improvement, towels and bath mats are not pristine white and it is unclear why they are still in rotation despite constant feedback. There were also basic room issues, toilet not flushing on two occasions and unpleasant sewage odors from the exhaust, reflecting weak quality control.
Overall, complaints were not properly handled, and the situation did not improve.

Good value for money, location and atmosphere
Pros:

The hotel atmosphere, location, the ease of parking (although it’s a paid and does not belong to the hotel)

Cons:

The room had some maintenance issues and i only stayed one night, so, I didnt have time to call fir maintenance.
