Lovely historic hotel which is now located in an area needing refurbishment.
Pros:

Location was very good, but sadly the street surroundings were dilapidated.
The old dated features such as the lift were great.

Cons:

The shower arrangement in my room was an old shower-in-bath arrangement.
Choice at breakfast was limited (not many people staying )
Staff not particularly helpful.

My actual stay was very pleasant. The room was excellent, very clean, and had a beautiful sea view. The staff at the hotel were welcoming and professional. The food was great, and the room service was outstanding — fast, efficient, and courteous.

Cons:

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel even before my stay.
Three days before my scheduled vacation, I received a phone call from someone named Roqaya from the reception asking me to cancel my reservation because the hotel was supposedly closed for maintenance. When I refused, she spoke to me in an aggressive and unprofessional manner and did not clearly confirm whether my reservation was still valid. This caused unnecessary stress and confusion just before my trip.
Two days later, I contacted the hotel again and discovered that the hotel was actually operating normally — only two floors were under maintenance while the other three floors were open and functioning properly. The information given to me initially was inaccurate and very concerning.
I hope management improves coordination and communication regarding reservations, as the hotel itself offers a very good experience.
Overall, while the pre-arrival communication was extremely disappointing and stressful, the stay itself was comfortable and enjoyable.

La situation de ce bel établissement historique sur la corniche d’Alexandrie. La suite spacieuse qui nous a été offerte alors que nous avions réservé une chambre double.

Cons:

Le bruit du trafic apporte un petit bémol.

Great hotel in a perfect location
Pros:

We've had a great stay at the Cecil Steigenberger. All the staff was utmost friendly, helpful, specially in the evening time at the restaurant Mr. Mohamed el Ati was a very friendly, humorous and nice person. But as already said, the whole entire staff was great. The location is perfect, we've had a big room, good beds and pillows. The breakfast was absolutely tasteful and also the menu at dinner time was very good, although I don't know, if you stay longer than 3 nights, what you can eat more then. They have 3 menus. For us it was OK, but if you stay longer.....? then repeat the menu? We truly can advise to take this hotel in Alexandria. Thanks dear staff for the warm welcome.

An excellent stay in an amazing city!
Pros:

The location and the view from my room were fantastic. The room and the bathroom were clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all professional and very polite and really helpful when I needed assistance.

Cons:

I wish I could watch more english movies on TV.

Exceptional customer service and the most enjoyable stay
