Great food and service. Fantastic stay. Will be coming with friends
You can't go wrong staying here. The room was awesome the check in easy. I would consider this my next destination to stay for sure.
Great place to stay Friendly staff and great bar by the pool
to many young children not supervised screaming most of the day. not relaxing . all 3 pool was very busy and no quiet area. not what we bought a time share for to have tammerin inclusive take over our pools.
Nothing to write home about - lack of dining choices - and no coffee and drinking water in room.
Front desk during check in did not explain anything other than took my card and tell me to wait until the room is ready. Very unfriendly as if she doesn't want to be there.
Divi Dutch is our home away from home. We visit every year and it is a wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff, beautiful accommodations and right near the beach. Heavenly!!!
My Wife and I stayed at the Dutch village all inclusive with mega package. We had an absolute amazing experience beyond what words I could even communicate. We only did the mega for the last 3 days and felt that extra expense was well worth it. We truly felt given what the all inclusive offered that was more than enough to satisfy the first half of our stay. Being able to essentially hop between properties made this experience one of a kinda with endless activities to do, We will certainly be back!
Just steps away from the ocean, the Divi Dutch was the perfect place for a getaway. Always found a Palapa at the beach where the staff was diligent about cleaning the seaweed. We will be back, for sure!
The concierge, Eliza, made our vacation the best possible experience. We loved Aruba, and Divi Dutch was a nice quiet resort.
Read the fine print on the all inclusive package. Only one bar area open till 8 pm for breakfast and lunch and cocktails then you have to go across to the Links which is lovely! Room was so small and backed on to the highway and we constantly heard ambulance and sirens because of proximity to hospital and no where to hang wet clothes as our room didn’t have a balcony, or chairs! Staff was outstanding other than at front desk, we had to make repeat visits to get them to record cc to cover the surcharge on ‘premium’ alcohol! Took us 4 tries back and forth to front desk to get our bracelets to open the room door - maintenance had to be called in! And ceiling fan didn’t work, when it was finally fixed we couldn’t set it any higher than low or it sounded like it was going to fall on us in the bed! Other Divi resorts looked lovely! Restaurants across the road at the Links were phenomenal!
Purchased an all inclusive vacation with 7 adults through capital one travel (hopper). We had a confirmed documentation of all inclusive. When we arrived, the resort did not honor the all inclusive forcing us to pay $3500! More. Capital washed their saying their not responsible. All admitted documentation was valid as a typo error. They wouldn't accomodate our large party. It cost us 1.5 days fighting with all parties. And to top everything off the all inclusive we were forced to purchase( non refundable by the way). Every bar and restaurant we went to they wouldn't a cent the all inclusive. Horror isle experience ruined the vacation. Canceling capital one and telling everyone I can to stay away from the divi all Inclusive ( Ha)
Excellent experience at Divi Dutch Village with my family. The total experience exceeded expectations, including helpful and friendly staff, clean and functional rooms, the pools and beaches, and the quality of food choices. It was quiet at night and fun during the day.
Excellent vacation with the All Inclusive Plan. Don't need a car rental because multiple good restaurants, beaches and pools and are easily accessible within short walking distance or shuttle services.
Great time, 25th year st the resort
First, the service at this resort is very good and our room was clean, spacious, and had the benefit of a little kitchenette with utensils and a coffee maker. We found that any attempt at speaking Papiamento brought a smile to people's faces and they definitely seemed happier to help us after a "bon tardi". This is true of the island, not just Divi, so learn a few words.
The resort itself is broken into 3 parts and each has its pros and cons. We stayed at Divi Dutch Village with the all-inclusive (AI) package. This section has a small beach that seems to be eroding a bit but is well taken care of. There are a couple of pools here and the tiki-bar is included with AI. The rooms are supposedly older and we heard a lot of street noise, plus we clearly heard the guests through the adjoining door. That part was not good, as one would imagine.
All food on the AI required a little walk or golf cart ride across the road to the Divi Golf Resort. Golf cart drivers are readily available to bring guests around- that part is nice. The food was great anywhere we went, and this resort had rooms further back from the road and nicer pools. Rooms here, I was told, are newer. But from this part of the resort, you have to cross the street to get to the beach. There's also a lot more drama with palapas on the beach here- we saw a lot of towel-saving and not a lot of people, which is annoying. By our Divi Dutch beach, this wasn't a problem.
Finally, there's the Tamarijn which has own AI deal. With our AI we had a right to swim here, but drinks/ meals would have cost extra. It is on the beach-side of the road, and so are its restaurants, so there's no being carted between beach, room, and food. We did not spend much time here at all since our AI wouldn't have paid for anything, but it did seem nice.
There is an option to stay at any Divi without AI, for the record, but we thought the AI was worth it for our short time in Aruba, and the food included was delicious.
As for the resort's location, I personally liked being away from the high rises and night life, but close enough for a quick drive/taxi there. You can walk to the beach to Manchebo Beach, and eventually Eagle Beach, but Divi's beaches are lovely too.
We also found a supermarket a few blocks away; bought coffee, milk, etc to make use of the little kitchen in the room.
All in all, a very nice place and we enjoyed our time immensely. The only con I'd say was having to choose between being close to the beach or being close to food. But the golf carts and kitchenettes make it ok if the beach is your priority, like it was ours.
We have stayed at the Tamarijn for over 10 years, but this time, we wanted to skip the all inclusive and try out some of the great restaurants in Aruba. However, we really like the beach location and relative quiet, so we thought the Divi Dutch Village would be a good idea. We also wanted a kitchen for breakfast and lunch.
We booked a king studio which has a full kitchen.
First off, rooms aren't ready until 4pm which is ridiculous. The first room we were assigned was on the first floor behind the Tiki outdoor cooking area. In a dark corner. We asked for another room. It was clear the hotel wasn't fully booked even though the front desk said it was.
When we finally got our room on the second floor of building 1, it was very spacious with a nice balcony. Full kitchen.
The entire week, we never had hot water to shower or to wash up. It was tepid at best and I think that's only because Aruba is so hot. We told the front desk multiple times. They claimed to send an engineer who left us a note. The note said "call for an explanation". No one answers, no one calls back. Honestly, I don't want an explanation, I just want a decent hot shower. We stopped asking as it was very clear they don't care at all.
In general, its pretty obvious that management doesn't care. The property is showing its age and is looking tired. Our room wasn't made up until after 2:30 each day. I also think the 10 am checkout is foolishly early.
We will find somewhere else to stay in the future.
The location and facilities were excellent. Very friendly staff. Everyone went out of their way to help you out.
Nice if you get a balcony room , their other resorts look like a level or two up.
The hotel lacked coffee stations in the morning.
No coffee pods in the room.
This resort is absolutely amazing. Our room, which was a 2 floor suite blew us away. We were both steps from the beach and pool. Could not have asked for a better place to stay
While there are a few good things about this place, I am tempted to rate it as poor but settling on average.
The location is great - this is very conveniently located. Rooms are reasonably clean and the housekeeping staff does a good job and cleans the room regularly. The room had a full size fridge, kitchen, utensils - which was all very convenient. The lady at the front desk who checked us in was extremely helpful, courteous and went out of her way to get us settled in even though we landed early.
Now for the bad part --- The atmosphere is poor !! The overall facilities are extremely poor. The pool is sub par and not clean at all. The beach area is not very well maintained and not relaxing by any stretch. Like any large hotel or resort, we need to get towels from a towel hut - the people manning the towel hut seem to think they are doing us a favor rather than providing a service that we paid for - very curt, not accommodating (reach 1 minute after 6 pm and they are closed for the day -even though the person is still there). The common toilets near the beach are filthy and stink -- just not usable. Here is the worst part though --- we were in a room in 13x ---which happens to be right next to a sewer or something. The place STINKS ... .the smell of s*** was nauseating. We had to park our car here and walk to our room and every time we did that we had to hold our breath. We could not sit out in the balcony and enjoy the view of the sea or the pool as the stench was just unbearable. Multiple calls to the reception or to the maintenance staff but no relief. Overall the place seems fairly run-down. Wonder why would someone even have guest rooms next to a place that smells so bad ....
Not worth the price at all.
