Professional property host/manager
The hotel is quite good for the price. The service deserves special mention. The hotel offers excellent cuisine, with a wide variety of delicious food always available. There is an entertainment team, and a huge selection of drinks. I would particularly like to highlight the waiter Khamis T.; he is always smiling and helpful, and he refills your drink before you’ve even finished the last one. I really want to commend his professionalism and hope that management reads these reviews and rewards him for his efforts.
The food is really good and also the shows are amazing and so much fun and the beach is so nice
Animation team was very nice and friendly. They are make cool party!
When we checked in the first experience we had was a family next to us complaining about the room. We were already concerned. We had to wait a while for our rooms to be ready as we had a party of 12.
The room its self was ok but the bathroom was disgusting and needed redoing. It was so old and grimy. The balcony didn’t seem safe, it had a beautiful view but I was scared of the structure of it, so didn’t want the kids to lean up against it. We were only allowed one key which was so inconvenient. The AC doesn’t really work and the switch has no numbers or anything to indicate how to use it. No point in asking house keeping as they are not bothered. There were cockroaches in our room almost everyday and my son was terrified to sleep in his bed as there was one on the sheets.
The lift was very packed and always busy. My husband helped people get out of the lift as it got stuck between floors and people were screaming. There is no ventilation in them either, so it’s hot and stuffy. Thank god we never got Stuck. Try and stay on the lower floors to avoid using them. There is a mad rush at breakfast and 6pm when the pool closes, so be prepared the wait.
The Resturant was hectic and the staff who cleans the dinner tables are quite rude. One man snatched a drink out of my husband’s hand. Another ignored us when we asked him to clean a table for us to sit at. He looked at me and went to another table and decided to clean that empty table as well. It was very petty stuff but unnecessary when your only in holiday for a few days and want to have a nice time. I found that some people were treated well, and they were the ones that were tipped. The food reminded me of slopp from the school dinners from a cartoon, they slopped it into your plate. Your only followed a max of 4 so not ideal if your getting food for your kids. Most of the cooking staff were nice but very very long ques. Again I saw money handed over and plates being made up for those who didn’t want to que. The coffee machines tasted very scaly and if you want hot water, use the water machine instead. Cockroaches are walking around on plates, work tops and on the walls. The staff will just get rid of them of you see it. So god knows if they were in the food. It made me feel very sick but I had to firm it. Most nights I just had salad and chips. One night had some nice roast chicken and some of the Tunisian food was nice. The meat and the fish wasn’t very nice.
The Russians put their towels out at silly hours of the morning, so you will need to get up early to do the same sadly. The beach sometimes has the odd beach. Make sure you bring something destinctive as they will put stuff on top of your stuff. They don’t care!
The pool and beach was nice and the animation team was brilliant. That’s what made up for everything else. There are jelly fish in the sea but we got nipped by little fish and little rashes by sea larvae.
Don’t expect to run on the treadmill at the gym as you will get told off😂😂. The girl who works there sits there on her phone scrolling on ticktock and looks up and tells you off if you run on it as apparently it’s too old. You’re only allowed to walk! I also got told of for letting the weights on the cable machine clatter as she said I needed to be careful as it’s old. There is no water or towels in the gym and not even a fan let a lone air con.
The good points was that you could get bottles of water down staires and drinks and chill which was nice. The entertainment was semi good and the white beach party was good. There was lots of security so you felt safe. The spa was nice and I had a massage twice.
If they just cleaned the place up and fumigated it. Also updated the bathroom and ensured that the food was completely hygienic it would be better.
The beach bars for food were horrific. The hot dogs were kept on a sweaty jar and the boy uses his bare hand to take them out. There are ants all over the place. He is then wiping his face and carrying on with making the hot dog. The burger bar was also shocking. As he gets a burger out of this Tupperware then puts it in a bun with mayo and lettuce then puts the whole thing on the grill 🤯. So the burger is still cold and the mayo is warm. The chips were nice!! The panini place has this chicken the it’s like very old dry roast chicken and I took one bite and i had to throw it away.
Word of advice to management is to pay your staff more. So that they don’t hate their job and take it out on the holiday makers. Remove cockroaches by fumigating especially in the dining area. Update the bathrooms and check it is all safe on the balcony area. Make sure the is security at night as we heard fighting like a domestic going on and didn’t see any security attend. PLEASE USE GLOVES TO SERVE FOOD 🙏🙏 surely this is a basic level of hygiene in any country??!
Great place! Mr Seif is the best! He founds his polish lady and she said „Kocham Cię” ✨
very nice place
good entertainment
amazing food
This hotel was a huge disappointment.
When we arrived, we were given a room where the bed had not even been changed after the previous guests. The towels looked as if they had been used to wash the floor and then simply rinsed. They smelled absolutely awful. One of our son's beds was completely dirty, and the mattress on our other son's bed didn't even fit because it was larger than the bed frame.
The bathroom was filthy, the toilet didn't work, and there was dirt and mould everywhere. The worst part was finding cockroaches in our room.
We complained and insisted on changing the room. At first, we were told that there were no better rooms available, but after refusing to accept that answer, we were finally given a decent room. It still wasn't anything like the rooms shown in the hotel's advertisements and promotional videos, but at least it was clean, and the towels were of a completely different quality.
The receptionist even admitted to us that the rooms shown in the advertisements are only used to promote the hotel and are not what most guests actually receive. In other words, the advertising is misleading.
The hotel has three categories of rooms: newly renovated rooms, average rooms, and rooms that are completely unacceptable and should never be given to guests. Unfortunately, they still accommodate people in those terrible rooms without any hesitation.
There are cockroaches crawling on the dining room walls and even on the serving counters among the food. Everywhere you go, you have to stand in long queues for food and drinks. Glasses, plates, and cutlery run out very quickly. Even if you manage to get your meal, there is often nowhere to sit because there aren't enough staff to clear and prepare the tables, despite them working hard.
The same situation applies to the bars. We ended up buying our drinks from a nearby shop because we were tired of waiting 20 minutes every time we wanted something to drink. Quite often they don't even have enough glasses to serve drinks, so we brought our own.
The beach is full of rubbish. Nobody cleans it, and the sand is covered with cigarette butts. Although it is the hotel's beach, it is right next to the public beach, so the sea is full of rubbish washed in from nearby – plastic, watermelon rinds, used nappies and even sanitary pads. For two days the sea was so dirty that we didn't even want to go swimming.
The swimming pool is overcrowded, making it impossible to swim properly.
There is also a snack bar outside, but the lady making waffles and pancakes has only one working waffle maker and one hotplate, so waiting in line for 40 minutes is completely normal. The same happens throughout the hotel.
Breakfast is the worst we have ever experienced on holiday. The only bread available is dry baguette and toast, plus about three types of sweet pastries. If you want eggs or pancakes, you have to queue again.
Lunch and dinner deserve praise because the food is tasty and there is a good variety. However, once again, the queues are extremely long.
This is not the fault of the employees. They work very hard and do their best, but the management has completely failed. There is nobody organising things properly, and for such a large hotel there are simply far too few staff during the peak season.
The worst staff are at reception. They are rude, arrogant and unhelpful. When we checked in, we placed 20 US dollars inside our passports. The receptionist simply put the money under the desk and still gave us the terrible room I described earlier. The men exchanging money at reception were also very arrogant. One of them literally threw the money onto the counter without even looking at us or saying thank you. We have never experienced such behaviour anywhere else.
Think very carefully before booking this hotel. We know for certain that we will never return, and we definitely cannot recommend it.
We are not demanding travellers, but this has been the worst holiday we have ever had, and we can't wait to go home.
everything was good, I love the hotel , everyone is so friendly, the atmosphere is good , we’ve had a lot of fun❤️
Beautiful animation amazing entertainment my favourite person was definitely jozef I would definitely come back again
I was extremely disappointed with my stay. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were rude and unwelcoming, which set the tone for the rest of the holiday.
The bedroom was very outdated, and the bathroom was disgusting. It was dirty, the shower curtain was covered in mould, and the air conditioning barely worked. The balcony overlooked what appeared to be a carport or service area, which was far from the view we were expecting. Housekeeping was also poor, with clean towels often not being provided.
The food in the restaurant was the worst I’ve ever eaten at a hotel. There was very little variety, the quality was poor, and many of the restaurant staff came across as rude and uninterested.
The pool area was another major disappointment. Unless you were out before 6:00 am to reserve a sunbed, you had virtually no chance of getting one.
Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Between the poor cleanliness, outdated rooms, rude staff, terrible food, and lack of basic facilities, I would not recommend this hotel and certainly would not return.
it’s my first time i cam to this hotel it’s super hotel the servece the bar good and restaurant to and the best it’s animation it’s very nice and active and didi it’s very funny and friendly
the location is really nice and its easy access to the beach. The staff is very friendly and makes u feel welcome. Amazing service
I enjoy the pool in this hotel, the private beach, parties. The hotel is very big and it has places to chill which is very good
The view in my room was amazing and it’s near to the beach so like this
There’s love of people and only few elevators, many times i wait more than 10min just to go up or down
Location
No air conditioning in rooms, eating area, hallways, elevators. Rooms were dirty and run down. Elevators were either broken or very slow. They were also extremely small with no air circulation. A coakroach was crawling around the food on the baffee. This hotel did not meet expectations.
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful (especially Kemal Akrami on the reception desk).
The food was exceptional and the choice unbelievable. The hotel was clean and centrally located. Beach and pool very clean and so many activities. I would definitely recommend this hotel for family holidays.
Lifts a bit slow but understandable as so many people.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but after staying at Riadh Palm Hotel I feel it is important to warn other travellers. This hotel falls far below what I would expect from a property advertised as a 4 or 5-star hotel.
The biggest issue throughout our stay was the attitude of many staff members. We repeatedly experienced rude and dismissive behaviour. On one occasion, bar staff handled ice for drinks with their bare hands and served drinks in dirty glasses, which raised serious hygiene concerns. After we confronted the staff for handling ice with their bare hands they went behind the bar and just poured the drink into another glass so that it looked like they did something. We once again confronted the staff member for this and they just started shouting at us calling us liars.
The most distressing incident occurred when a shirt was stolen from a sunbed. Instead of dealing with the matter professionally, security initially suggested that another tourist had stolen it despite there being witnesses who disputed this. The witness stated that a staff member was walking around the pool with a black bin bag and putting items in it from around the pool. It took around two hours to resolve the issue, and eventually the shirt was found after an employee was reportedly dismissed. Despite the inconvenience and distress caused, we received no apology or compensation. I was offered 3 meetings with different managers where they all claimed that they do not understand why I am bothered as the shirt has now been found. I am bothered because a situation like this should never occur at a hotel and management should not hire untrustworthy staff that steal. I should be able to leave my shirt there all week and no one should touch it. Communication was also extremely difficult, with the head of security unable to speak English and another security employee refusing to assist after we asked them to take responsibility for resolving the issue. Soon after this I was speaking to another tourist and was told that money went missing from their room.
Activities were equally disappointing. We paid for the hotel’s quad biking excursion, but no protective eyewear was provided because they had run out. Riding through sand without eye protection is a serious safety concern. We then waited around 45 minutes while staff inflated the tyres before the activity could even begin.
Housekeeping was poor. Our room was not cleaned for three days until we specifically requested it. The bathroom contained mould, the shower head was broken and sprayed water throughout the room, and the Wi-Fi was virtually unusable unless you were sitting near reception, disconnecting after only a few seconds elsewhere. Even when we asked for our room to be cleaned the housekeeping team would not clean it they would just put new towels and toilet roll in. More over we were not even given the correct amount of towels.
Cleanliness across the hotel was unacceptable. There was a constant sewage smell around the pool due to poor drainage. Food in the restaurant was frequently covered in flies, and staff often behaved as though providing drinks or cutlery was an inconvenience. We also encountered cockroaches in the spa changing area and in the luggage storage room, where they were crawling over luggage. We had to put something into our case as we was leaving and the cockroaches crawled into our case. So we are now bringing back Tunisian cockroaches to the UK.
The all-inclusive package was extremely misleading. Drink options were very limited, alcoholic drinks were restricted to only basic options unless you paid extra, bottled water was refused. I went to the bar with a friend that I made at the hotel both if us asked for a bottle of water and the bar staff started arguing with us saying that we are in the same room and we do not need two bottles. It is water I should b of be refused water especially at a hotel where I paid for all inclusive. Drinks were served in tiny paper cups, and even ice was rationed. This did not feel like an all-inclusive experience. Some of the bar members were very tight on alcohol where they wouldn’t even give you a shot of alcohol in your drink. Which is unusual for an all inclusive as we all know that usually on an all inclusive they like to pour like crazy. When you asked for extra alcohol to be difficult they would purposely poor in an unbearable amount. The hotel had a club where you had to pay for drinks. We went there on our first night to watch the England match as it was on at 4am and all the all inclusive bars were shut. Even though we were paying for the drinks we were getting dirty glasses and the main man working at the bar was extremely rude and constantly had a very unapproachable face.
On our departure day, we were told that we can shower in the spa facilities by the morning shift receptionist, which had always been the case no matter what country I have traveled to I was always given a room to shower in or would use the spa facilities. When it came to leaving, we went to the spa and asked the lady where the showers are. She then kept on saying “finished finished’. We were confused about this so we went to reception to question this. They then said you can’t shower in the spa for free you have to use the pool showers. Which is crazy as I am not comfortable with that. Even the tourist manager agreed with us, she said she was new and did not know that that was the case. She the. Called the general reception manager to come and speak to us. His name was Hussain, he was incredibly rude and had an awful attitude these are his exact words “ So what is your problem? You checked out and wanted to go for a swim and are now expecting a shower” we addressed his attitude to him straight away and he responded “Yes I know I do” he told the lady to carry on with us and just walked off. The tourist lady was extremely nice but said it’s not her decision and apologised she could not help. We then asked for some towels, which was also a problem. We had to speak to three different staff members to even get some towels. It’s like all the staff were shocked that we wanted a a shower. Check out is at 12pm and our flight was not until 11pm like if course we will go for a swim and want to shower. We are not gonna sit around waiting all day.
Other issues included:
* The lift did not work for our floor.
* Emergency fire exits appeared poorly maintained.
* Staff frequently gave conflicting information, suggesting a lack of training and communication.
* Some male staff made members of our group feel uncomfortable due to inappropriate behaviour.
Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. A hotel claiming to offer 4 or 5-star standards should provide clean facilities, professional customer service, basic hygiene, and competent management. Unfortunately, Riadh Palm Hotel failed on all of these fronts.
I would not recommend staying here and certainly would not return.
⭐☆☆☆☆
Avoid this hotel at all costs. This was genuinely one of the worst holiday experiences I’ve ever had.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were rude, dismissive, and acted as if guests were an inconvenience. Any issue we raised was either ignored or met with empty promises that nothing would be done. Customer service simply doesn’t exist here.
The rooms are filthy, outdated, and in desperate need of renovation. The bathroom smelled like sewage throughout the stay, the air conditioning barely worked, and basic maintenance issues were completely ignored. The hotel looks nothing like the photos online.
The food was absolutely dreadful. Every day was the same tasteless, lukewarm buffet with very little variety. Hygiene standards seemed questionable, and after a couple of meals we completely lost confidence in eating there. Even the drinks were poor quality.
The entire hotel feels neglected. Dirty communal areas, broken facilities, overcrowded restaurants, and a general lack of cleanliness made it impossible to relax. The lifts constantly broke down, queues were ridiculous, and the atmosphere was chaotic from morning until night.
The final day summed up the entire experience perfectly. Before checking out, we politely asked reception if there was somewhere we could shower before leaving, as this is a service many hotels provide. We were told by the receptionist that we could use the showers in the spa free of charge. However, when we went to the spa, we were suddenly told we couldn’t use those showers after all and that we would have to pay. After being sent back and forth, arguing and complaining because we had been given completely different information by hotel staff, we still got nowhere. Instead, we were told our only option was to shower by the pool, in full view of other guests. It was embarrassing, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the manager, Hussain, came out to deal with the situation and his attitude was appalling. Rather than trying to resolve the issue or apologise for the hotel’s mistake, he was rude, dismissive, and spoke to us with complete disrespect. It was the worst customer service we experienced during our stay and left an awful final impression.
This hotel advertises itself as a four-star resort, but it barely deserves one. There are far better places to stay in Sousse for the same money. I wouldn’t return even if the stay was free, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend anyone else waste their hard-earned money here.
Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. You’ll thank yourself later.
