The room was okay but most of the staff was friendly.
Very friendly and help full staff.
This is a decent hotel that needs some tlc. The hotel and grounds are pretty.
The pool chairs are falling apart- we had to put the screws back into multiple chairs in order to use them. The pool water was very cold.
The hotel is on a hill so there are a lot of stairs and no elevator. There was an employee that helped us with our bags but it was a pretty long unexpected climb.
The breakfast buffet was good, a number of options. The dinner buffet is €20 a person and it wasn't worth it - the food was ok but there weren’t a lot of options and you can get supper at a restaurant in town for less with better food.
The bed was comfortable and the room stayed cool.
The shower was large - but there is no bathroom fan.
We stayed 3 nights and our room was cleaned one time and during that time they left our room unlocked and took our dirty towels but didn’t leave us any clean ones. We told the front desk and they did get us new towels.
A unique thing to the island is that your room has an electricity key- so there is no electricity in your room if you are not in the room- this was the same in all our stays on the Greek islands.
The staff at this hotel really don’t seem to care about their jobs, helping guests, or working really. They are hard to find and seem to spend more time visiting with each other or on their phones.
The real draw to this hotel is its location - it is between Prokopios and Naxos town with a bus stop right outside- the hotel sells bus tickets for €2.50 and the bus comes every half hour. We were able to spend the day at the beach in Prokopios which is beautiful and then have dinner in Naxos town - which was awesome.
I would stay at this hotel again but it would really be nice if they did a little maintenance on the grounds and rooms
A nice clean well laid out hotel which was totally spoilt for us by the mostly young staff.
They seemed more interested in their mobile phones than caring for the guests or restocking when the cups, spoons and napkins ran out.
We experienced 2 power cuts during our 1 week stay, not their fault obviously but no indication of what was happening re repairs and staff having hot drinks they made on the gas stove whilst the guests had a cold breakfast buffet and only juice.
The hotel seemed to have a stifled and lacklustre atmosphere due to the relatively unfriendly mood.
Not sure whether tipping the staff would have made a difference but we always tip wherever we go once we receive good friendly service from the outset.
We can't recommend this hotel to friends and family due to the atmosphere there.
Nice outdoor but rooms needs definite renovation.
Very disappointed from my decision. Nice exterior and typical breakfast. The rooms need restoration and the dinner smells bad (avoid half board). Overall both hotel and Naxos are overpriced.
Great place, loved the pool and location. Great place to visit if you want a littler quieter stay
All the boomers who gave one star to this place need to chill the f*** out.
I was so afraid to spend 4 days here when I read all the comments!!
Yes, the rooms could be a bit more modern. Yes it’s a bit weird to call it a 4 star and put “palace” in the name.
But seriously. It’s 60€ per night. The pool is great, the breakfast is the best we had so far in our trip. The personnel is nice and helpful.
The so called “dump” facing some rooms when listening to some reviews… is a beautiful stone landscape with a breathtaking view.
Chill. If you are used to La Mammounia, the Alhambra, the Topkapi or any other 5 star palaces you will be disappointed.
But if you are looking for a decent hotel at good price with a great pool and bar, and a truly solid breakfast experience, you’ll love it as we doing right now :)
Nice hotel with nice pool area. Walking distance to great beach Prokopios. Convenient with busstop
Over priced!! Definitely not a 4 star hotel like they advertise!
The beds don’t have proper sheets. The beds only have a top sheet that covers the mattress. No fitted sheet! The bathrooms are old and need replacing. Found lots a moths in the shower every day (gross). The rooms never felt clean. The pictures online are definitely a little deceiving.
The only good thing is the outdoor space.
The stuff we’re polite.
Excellent rapport qualité-prix
We were booked into this hotel by tour operator Wingbuddy out of Canada. We were to be booked in 4 star or better accommodations throughout our travels in Greece. This was in NO SHAPE OR FORM A 4 STAR PROPERTY even though it calls itself one!
We were shown to our room by George ( the owner , apparently) who complained about carrying our luggage because he had heart problems. The room was run down looking with mismatched furniture with rusty legs & saggy beds. It smelled musty. I noticed immediately there were several spiders on the ceiling. The bathroom had mold and mildew in the shower & dead bugs on the wall that the last occupant had killed presumably. There were dozens of tiny ants roaming around in the bathroom & main area. We asked for a different room & were shown one that was nearly identical but wasn't cleaned or made up. There were no other room available they said. We had no choice but to stay in the original room.
The included breakfast was of poor quality & subpar. Coffee, other than the cappuccino from the bar, was undrinkable as was the orange juice that was grainy & weak &tasted like it came from a mix. Hot breakfast items such as eggs were all ice cold. There were flies crawling over other buffet choices.
The grounds were not well kept & was in poor repair. Loose had railings & broken tiles on stairs were safety issues & the pool had a green algae ring around it. Some of the loungers around the pool were in poor condition and broken. Leaves & bits of garbage had accumulated by stairs & wasn't cleaned up.
This hotel is also in a poor location. There is a bus stop close outside but you need to take the bus to get anywhere. It was dangerous to walk on the narrow road out past it.
As 2 females travelling , we did not feel comfortable or safe at this hotel. When we requested to moved to another hotel, our tour operator was assured we were in a superior suite with an unrestricted ocean view by the hotel. What a joke! Absolutely not what we received. We never saw one happy looking guest there the whole time we were there. Avoid staying here!
Where to start.. Our rooms weren’t ready when we got there. The front desk guy wasn’t helpful and George, who I guess runs the place really didn’t want to be there. After getting our room, we requested a change, it was small, 1 chair on the balcony, the a/c didn’t work, out lets were covered with tape. The 2 nd room wasn’t much better. There are no coffee makers, the mini refrigerator didn’t work. More tape on outlets. Dirty, the extra bed cover smelled like a Salvation Army complete with moths. The furniture was old, run down. Bed’s uncomfortable. The chairs at the pool were dirty and mostly broken.
The 1 star is for the kind bartenders! They were personable and kind. I guess they are hired by George, the boss , to play on a soccer team.
Every other place made sure our rides and transports were taken care of. They did not here and we had
Had to get a cab at the last minute. They said it would be 15 euros, it was 25 to go 2 miles. It’s off the beaten path, they said the bus system is good, but we never saw it show up.
Terrible place to stay! I know they had a busy season but being in October we expected way better than this! Staff was unfriendly and the rooms were dirty and had lots of bugs in it! The first room they offered us smelled so bad we asked for another on the spot! Checked under the bed because the rollers on the bed were not blocked so it moved all over the place! Ton of dirt and old socks under there! Did not feel comfortable sleeping and not safe! The food was terrible and i got sick although it may have been a coincidence but felt sick there the whole 3 Days! Asked for coffee in the morning and was told to wait cause machine was not plugged in yet when they were Open! If you walk into the little village it’s great food and that is where we went always! No sidewalks to walk there and streets are very norrow and dangerous! Not safe at night! Would never recommend this Hotel to anyone and it is in the middle of nowhere! Really not a Palace!!
Although the property is a little tired we were made to feel very welcome and well-looked after
