To be honest after reading some of the reviews prior to coming I was just about prepared to move to a different hotel. However, it would have been a mistake. For what I paid, I have had an excellent experience.
The rooms were always spotlessly clean, the cleaners friendly. We had extra water left in the room, rose petals on the bed, towel animals and all the towels we required.
The servers in the restaurant were lovely. We often had a table reserved for us, with fresh orange juice waiting for us in the morning. Servers were always very friendly and polite.
Food, the egg lady was fantastic always had my husbands eggs ready for him. The food was nice. I've had some truly delicious dishes from the restaurant and some which were a little bland. One or two dishes have been cold but this was rare. Salt and pepper always resolved the issue. Food can be a little of the same but there was always variety as well in the form of sushi, Tunusian evening etc.
I found both pool areas lovely and very well kept. The indoor pool was warm and the outdoor pool was nice to stick your legs in.
The area around the hotel is run down a little but it is very close to the Medina and there is a lovely beach both outside the hotel and further along the front.
The animation team are very proactive and friendly always making time for all the guests. The lady in the gym is very friendly and proactive with the guests.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay and certainly excellent value for money.

The experience was really great - even though we went in April, the weather was perfect. Good location, close to the Medina. Madji was amazing, good entertainer and really nice person.
The room was also great - the cleaning personnel came every day, however I would rate the cleanliness 8/10.
All in all, good experience, would recommend!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and couldn’t be more pleased with the overall experience. The restaurant was a true highlight , the food was consistently delicious, with a great variety of options, and everything was beautifully presented. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile.

My stay at this hotel was enjoyable. One of the things that made my experience at this hotel so enjoyable was the nice people i have met, the friendly house keepers that made my morning.

Other than the people, i enjoyed my stay here because of the enviroment. Its very freeing and relaxing. The interior of the hotel is very modern, clean.

With an all inclusive package we also got breakfast, lunch, dinner. Each meal i had here was delectable.

The entertainment at this hotel ensures you leave with a good laugh. Majdi has many tricks up his sleeve to keep you entertained. He is an all in one DJ and comedian.

I got cooerced by one of the hotel people to write a good review and I deleted it and now I’m back this is the honest review. THIS IS WHY THE REVIEWS ARE SO GOOD. THIS IS NOT A 5* HOTEL. More like a 3* Not a good hotel at all, the lobby looks fancy and that’s about it. The rooms are poor quality and I had to change my room 4 times because the room door wouldn’t lock. The rooms have a weird smell in all of them and they don’t look appealing either. The bar is terrible, the glasses they give the drinks in are so small compared to every other inclusive hotel iv been to, and would always run out of drinks. The food is bland and not much variety. You have to pay to use the spa and the steam room. The management of the hotel is so poor you just get random people coming into the hotel, not just a few people you’d get about 100-200 people. I did not like this hotel whatsoever.

I didn’t have a great experience this was a trip for my sister 21st birthday the hotel room was not clean when me and my nan first entered there was a sock left under the couch which is disgusting the whole floor had dust and so did the counters, when my nan wiped her fingers on the table dust came off. The bath was dirty and had dry yellow spots. We called reception about this and they said they would send someone up but we had to call 3 times and eventually go downstairs because they had us waiting for more than an hour which was disappointing and not great service. My sister has a nut allergy and had an allergic reaction because there was no signs on the food to say which food had nuts or not. This is a health hazard and luckily my sister had her EpiPen on her but still was upsetting. The breakfast was okay the dinner and lunch could have had more flavour wasn’t the best food.

The holiday package presented Sousse Palace Hotel as being a 5 star, but in my opinion it is only a 3.5 star rating, reasons being:

The rooms advertised was a grade or 2 below what we got. There were no robes or slippers provided. The bath & hand towels were worn and soiled - they have seen better days!

The food was bland & insipid - no seasoning or flavours whatsoever! Guests had to be eating outside the hotel. No variation to fruits, just oranges, tangerines, strawberries & dates.  Most times the strawberries run out before getting to them. Some dishes are reasonably hot while others were cold as no food warmers to maintain temperatures.

Sometimes foods items were not cooked properly.  For example,  there were some young cooks preparing sea bream fish on open grills, although the outer part of the fish was charred, the inner section was completely raw.  Prawns are the easiest fish to prepare but even that was undercooked. One evening they did grilled quails, same issue occurred - blood was ousing out onto the plate - It seems like the young cooks are untrained and have no concept of cooking food to perfection, rules about bacteria or cross contamination. The tong used to place the raw meat onto the grill, is the same one that is used to pick up the ready ones!

Another evening, a young girl (no more than aged 15) was preparing pasta dishes, on request.  When she handed me the plate of pasta I noticed there was a large open wound on her thumb.

Another time the chips were finished and the young boy reached for a portion of chips to load the fryer, using his bare hands. 

They used their unwashed hands to do everything. In fact, the first day we landed, we missed lunch but was directed to a little snack bar.  There was a young boy there preparing crepe with fillings. His apron was filthy, he had no gloves on, he momentarily picked up his phone and he handled the food with bare hands to fill the dough with cheese, cucumber & onions.  I was so put off, I gave the snack session a pass.

Bottom line is, they demonstrated no concept or awareness of proper food hygiene.  So, there are 2 major food concerns here - unpalatable food & unhygienic preparation!

They were not accommodating to the simplest of request!  I  do not drink animal's milk, however,  they didn't have a suitable milk alternative i.e. almond or oat milk.  When I made enquiries, they presented me with tinned coconut milk (which is for cooking purposes).  We dont take alcohol or fizzy beverages at lunch or even meals but preferred a cup of hot drink - even this, they were not able to accommodate.  In their head, one suit fit all and everyone should have the exact same requirements.  Therefore, no flexibility to operate outside their rigid & stringent box! Even for very basic doable, low cost, negligible requests.....

Last but not least, yet just as important,  there was no entertainment! There was just only continuous background instrumental music playing all the time.  One would imagine there would be different entertainment/music themes every night to bring life to an otherwise dull setting.

While the lobby area passes for a 4 star, it must be understood that a flashy lobby alone does constitute a satisfying experience.  The bedroom and food quality would take far more precedence over the aforesaid as we must eat and sleep for the duration of our holiday.

Again, the overall rating of Sousse Palace Hotel is 3.5!

I went to this hotel for my 21st birthday and believe me please this hotel was not anything what was shown on the app in the picture it was completely different from the picture the hotel was old and run down the food was absolutely horrible there was very little selection nothing like I’ve seen before or shown in the pictures the food was bland no taste at all there wasn’t even ketchup for me to eat a simple thing such as chips they fed us the same thing every day and to get a drink we had to go to the bar first before entering the dining hall if we were lucky enough a member of staff poured us a drink there were no drink machines to self serve very stingy I have a severe allergy to nuts and ended up having a reaction as nobody spoke English when I wanted to enquire about the food barely anything was labelled which made it extremely difficult for me to choose what to eat leaving my hungry most of the time and forcing me to order kfc the tongs used to serve for desserts were all contaminated forcing me not to eat or touch anything it was a horrible experience the service was so slow for room service and at the bar there was always nobody there u had to wait for someone to come the ac was not working at all which was disappointing I was told because it’s winter in Tunisia they can’t turn on the ac when it was warm weather. The indoor pool area was nice but the CHANGING ROOMS absolutely disgusting it was mouldy and unclean so was the sauna it was leaking everywhere mouldy walls it was like I was in a leaky couldron I’ve never seen anything like it I was so disgusted that they could have there facilities like this for people. I couldn’t really go out anywhere without being targeted by men outside in the streets for money it felt so unsafe we had to have an escort to take us to the market or bank just to draw out some money just so we wouldn’t be bothered or targeted the staff were nice but they are so overworked and deserve better this hotel was not a five star at all and was a three star at most was very very disappointed I couldn’t wait to come back home I wouldn’t recommend anyone to come to this hotel in Sousse. a shout out to 2 staff members called kamel one who works in the shop in the hotel and the waitress for making our stay a bit tad pleasant and majdi he was so lovely they really do deserve better.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Sousse palace hotel, I cannot find fault with the service, food and entertainment. The weather wasn't to good whilst there so my mate and I decided to try the spa and wow what an experience, friendly staff and the masseuses were brilliant so good we had 4 massages, a pedicure and a manicure, it really made the holiday for me and my mate. We're already trying to book for next year.
