Great location, friendly helpful reception staff, comfortable bed and good room facilities. Reception staff was very helpful with the issues we had (see below), which weren't their fault!
The hotel is branded as a 'small luxury hotel' but we weren't told before we arrived that the restaurant was closed for renovations (understandable as Feb is likely low season but communication would have been nice) so we had to walk over the river to breakfast at their partner hotel (the full price was still charged). So we also couldn't have dinner at the hotel which we had really looked forward to- communication of this prior to our stay would have been helpful so we could decide if we wanted to continue our booking. They also had issues with their room lock not working when we arrived which required a maintenance visit to fix the following day- fortunately they had a spare room so we were able to pack up our stuff up again and move to that one. The hotel was disappointing overall unfortunately as it was meant to be a special treat to stay there. We have stayed in much cheaper places in Salzburg with far fewer issues with just as nice rooms.
Location amazing and friendly helpful staff
Brilliant location, very nice comfortable rooms and amazing staff
The restaurant had been closed without any notice prior to our arrival, so we had to walk across the river to get breakfast each morning in Feb. The other hotel was excellent and the breakfast very good quality but I would rather have eaten where I was staying. I had also made a reservation to eat at the hotel restaurant on our last night as it was very highly regarded and was not informed it was not open until we arrived. I understand this was a decision by the hotel owners, if you are open to guests then I think your facilities should also be open. If you want to renovate then close.
Ulrike the manager was exceptionally welcoming, the location was very central but quiet at this time of year. The room was quirky and a good size.
The bed was quite firm.
The location was perfect to get to know and see Salzburg. Easy walk to all attractions and sights we were interested in seeing in the Alstadt. The restaurant was wonderful. The breakfasts were more than ample. The atmosphere was beautiful and meals were perfection.
Nothing comes to mind. I didn't give the highest rating for cleanliness, but we visited in winter and it would be hard to keep up with the salt and winter mess on the floors.
Ulrika is what makes this hotel a success. Her personality is great, so welcoming, offered a glass of bubbly on our arrival, showed us around the room and made sure we were happy. The hotel is in the old town in a gorgeous cobbled street just off the main square. Easy to get too by bus from the airport. The hotel is in a very old building which adds to the charm. The rooms are huge and comfortable, we had a junior suite on the top floor, thankfully there is a lift.
Breakfast was good, we would have preferred to choose our own rather than be given breakfast, the reason for this is we like to eat high protein, low carb, this breakfast was the opposite. On the last day we just asked for eggs and yoghurt which was easily accommodated. Suggest a menu is put together for guests to choose from :-)
From the moment I walked through the front door I felt welcomed into the most hugely hospitable environment.
The location is perfect and Ulrike was so utterly charming and helpful,
Nothing.

This hotel is located in the old part of Salzburg, which is great if you arrive by taxi or Uber. We were driving a rental car and the parking lot was a good way from the hotel, forcing two of us who are 65 years old, to roll our large suitcases through throngs of tourists and over cobblestones. We were hot and exhausted when we arrived. I do not recommend staying here if you have a rental car you need to park.
That the parking was difficult. Some kind of valet parking would have been great.
Lage is top, Mitten in der Altstadt. Frühstuck ist ausgezeichnet.
Das Wichtigste und das Beste ist jedoch die Gastgeberin. Sie kümmert sich liebevoll um die Gäste und das macht ihr wirklich Spass.
Everything - it’s perfect location, fabulous food and service, wonderful hostess, and beautiful rooms.
Rien.
Ulrike who works in the reception is lovely! She is a real asset to the hotel!
