Horrible hotel
Pros:

This hotel was terrible. We had no hot water. The carpets are filthy, the towels small, thin, and dingy, and there was mold throughout the shower. The street noise is unbelievable. Even with noise makers on full blast, we could still hear the nonstop traffic driving by. It must be horrible in the summer when the windows are open. It is no where near the city center. Customer service was nonexistent. We asked for extra pillows and were asked to come get them from the front desk. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags up the stairs.

To start, I’ll first mention the breakfast. It was like a dream really. The variety. The quality. The presentation. The service. The staff were super friendly from checking in, through the breakfast staff, and a quick check out so we could get back on the road. The size of our room was a real relief. The kids loved it. The black out shades were helpful as well. This place is a bit away from the center of the tourist area, which is normally where I’d stay, but if I go back to Salzburg, I’ll stay here again. Being able to get in and out of town with a car so easy is very helpful. And to get into the tourist area, there is a bus right outside for free. There is parking downtown, but the bus is free and easy. As I said, I’ll stay here again in the future.

Very nice hotel that will offer a mobility pass with night stay. Breakfast was delicious and definitely worth the 22 euros. If you go downtown you will be paying at least this amount and quality of food might be lower. Do the breakfast addition. Bus very easy to center area of Salzburg and run often.

While hotels are rather expensive in Salzburg, this can accommodate 5 adults at a more affordable price. Love the setup that one room has a double/king size bed and the other room has 3 twins. Super close to bus stops that take you to and from the airport, train station and the old town and fortress area. Since tourists have free mobility passes, which are included in the hotel taxes and fees, we didn’t spend a dime on transportation for the entire 3 days in Salzburg.

Me and my husband stayed from 24th May 2025 to 28th May 2025. And the end of our stay we felt very sad to go to Munich which was our second leg of the journey. This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are spacious. Fantastic bed, hot water in bathroom. Best of all we did not spend a single euro buying mineral water. We got fresh safe drinkable water both hot and cold directly from the bathroom tap. The best part of this hotel is SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE. The front desk reception lady is fantastic. She gave all information and helped us time and time again. All in all thank you reception lady and we would definitely stay at Das Grun again and again whenever we get to go to Salzburg again. Thank you. Danke

Ich finde die Unterkunft sehr schlicht und einfach, aber für den Preis zu teuer! Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht und den Zimmern fehlt die Gemütlichkeit. Einzig das Frühstück und der Herr des Hauses sind positiv zu bewerten.

Great stay.
Pros:

Traveling with two teenage sons. The room was large and gave us all privacy.
Breakfast was amazing and the staff was always helpful. Location was a short 5 minute bus ride in to the center of town.

Beautiful City - Excellent hotel!
Pros:

I had an amazing time in Salzburg! The hotel is located close to downtown and the airport. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. From cozy rooms to great local tips, they had it all covered. Can’t wait to visit again!
