Location is wonderful. So beautiful and peaceful. We had a lake view room and it was lovely. Also loved that we could walk around the other rooms in the Schloss whenever we wanted
Didn’t love that we couldn’t get a full meal for dinner. We didn’t have a car and the restaurant right next to the hotel was not open 2 if the 3 nights we were there
Το φυσικό περιβάλλον ήταν πανέμορφο, δίπλα στη λίμνη, με θέα τα βουνά. Η τοποθεσία δεν είναι στο κέντρο του Salzburg (~20 λεπτά με τα πόδια) αλλά είναι πολύ ρομαντική και ήσυχη. Τα δωμάτια είναι πεντακάθαρα και άνετα. Κάποια έχουν θέα στη λίμνη και άλλα στην εσωτερική αυλή, με ωραίο διάκοσμο. Το πρωινό είναι πολύ πλούσιο και σερβίρεται σε εντυπωσιακές αίθουσες του παλατιού με θέα στη λίμνη (μοναδική εμπειρία). Το προσωπικό ήταν πολύ ευγενικό και εξυπηρετικό με φιλική στάση και πολύ καλή υποδοχή.

The view and magical location
Beds were maybe a little uncomfortable
What a special property. The staff, the views, the grounds, the room, and the breakfast were first class. It was our big splurge for a couple of nights and we could not have found a better place. We felt so pampered!

The whole setting is so beautiful. Having such a fabulous choice of breakfast in a stunning room with stunning views is worth the stay. Staff are very attentive, friendly, helpful and polite.
It would have been lovely to be able to have a meal in the evening there. We could have snacks at the bar but no cooked food.
Stunning surroundings and beautiful hotel. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast, good cafe with terrace. An extra wow factor is the Sound of Music connection, but I would also revisit regardless of this.

The best part of this stay was being able to ride the hotel bikes around the lake and wander freely around Schloss Leopoldskron.
I don’t like to be negative about hotel stays, but we found the hotel very unwelcoming on our arrival, no porter service, or friendly greetings. No information on the hotel, we were told we had to wait for after 3 check-in.
You get the impression the stay is in the Palace when booking, it’s not, we stayed in a very pokey attic which was situated in another shabby building! We had to ask for shower towels later at night which were not in the room, we could not turn the loud bathroom heater off during the night and the room was very stuffy.
No water provided in the room. Breakfast was not great.

The bedroom was cool, only the bathroom had heating, at this time of year it was just too cold.

The room and the views are stunning. The sound of music history was amazing. Staff were just fabulous. Bed was super comfy. Breakfast was awesome.
A full restaurant would have been nice but the bar was great with the light snacks available it was enough. If the could work out how to do a dinner buffet like breakfast it would be 10/10
