The beautiful view is the only positive
Pros:

Sad to leave a negative review but the cleanliness here isn’t great. Our room wasn’t cleaned properly, birds in the restaurant and staff quite miserable. However the view is INCREDIBLE. I would say it’s more a 3* for service and cleanliness

Alright but not 5 star
Pros:

Although the room was nice it was next to the room which housed all the cleaners equipment so very noisy in the morning. Also next to the balcony was the sewage drain! Not impressed but as we're not balcony people it didn't bother us. Agree with other reviews regarding the drinks; they were awful I just drank soft drinks as the spirits, etc tasted dreadful and the bar staff were rude. The cleaners and restaurant staff and the lady selling coffee on the beach were lovely. Reception desk staff, although very nice, weren't really on the ball. My review is mixed so it's not somewhere we would return to. I think with a bit more attention to detail in some areas of the hotel it could really be rated as 5 star but in my opinion definitely only 3 star. My partner and I are not picky or moaners and we only complain when necessary.

Amazing hotel, the staff are what makes this hotel.
Pros:

Stayed here for 11 nights, beautiful hotel, pool view out to sea is amazing. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, food choices are excellent, all fresh and cooked well. The specialty restaurants were fabulous. You book these on arrival. Spa area is lovely. The staff are what makes this hotel, very attentive, polite, happy and put customers first. Dimitris, and the others on the infinity pool bar we're fabulous. Thank you for the special cocktails. Pools are cold but once your in it's lovely. Only negatives, I would say a slight improvement in the cocktail choice for all inclusive, don't like pre mixed ingredients, fresh is much better. Our room had a smell of drains, some days worse than others, think it's a common problem in Greece. Apart from that everything else was perfect. Will definitely recommend this hotel.

Horrible Hoilday !!!
Pros:

Horrible Holiday Don’t Go Here !!!
Where to start - what a horrible experience this has been.
We booked this hotel based on other reviews and the so called 5 star rating.
We were disappointed from the beginning when we were showed our junior suite - it was dog eared tired and scruffy - the view we had was a building site !
Nothing in the mini bar - water down toiletries - old dirty pillows and ants all over the balcony and inside the room.
The food was discussing and of poor quality - there were birds eating the products and pooing all over the furniture.
The drinks weren’t any better we were all inclusive and the mixer were consistently flat and I like a vodka and I have never any so repulsive in my life - it just tasted of chemicals.
We would never return to this hotel the management weren’t very helpful and borderline rude.

Beautiful Setting but Service Fell Short of Expectations.
Pros:

We booked this hotel for my husband’s 40th birthday, having previously stayed at Kantouni Beach Boutique Hotel, which is part of the same hotel group. Our experience there was absolutely outstanding, so we arrived here with high expectations – especially as this hotel has an extra star. While there were certainly some positives, overall our stay didn’t quite live up to what we had hoped for.

The good:
There are definitely aspects worth mentioning positively. Jimmy at the bar was fantastic – attentive, friendly, and a real credit to the team. The bell boys were also extremely welcoming and helpful. We really appreciated the thoughtful touch of cake and fruit in the room on arrival.

The pool area is undeniably beautiful, with stunning views and very comfortable sunbeds. The swim-up bar is a great feature, and Wi-Fi coverage across the hotel was excellent. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and our housekeeper, Julie, was always friendly and cheerful. The gym was also well equipped and a pleasant surprise.

The not-so-good:
Unfortunately, the service and overall feel didn’t match what you would expect from a five-star hotel. While the facilities might technically qualify for the rating, the experience and service level didn’t reflect it.

Breakfast was good, but lunch and dinner were quite repetitive, and drink service in the restaurants was slow – getting refills often felt like a struggle. Many of the staff at the bars, reception, and restaurants were not particularly warm or friendly, and a few were outright rude at times.

Some practical details also let things down. Bottled water in the room wasn’t replenished daily, and paper cups and wooden spoons were provided – understandable if glass can’t be used, but reusable plastic would be a better, more eco-friendly alternative.

The food setup could also be more hygienic – birds frequently landed on and pecked at the uncovered bread, which was off-putting.

It was also disappointing to see several staff members on their phones while on duty, often in full view of guests. It gave the impression of disengagement and didn’t align with the level of professionalism you’d expect at a hotel of this standard.
Replacing beach towels was oddly inconvenient, as they had to be collected from the spa in the opposite direction from the pool area. The cocktails included in the all-inclusive package were also very disappointing – most tasted artificial, made from pre-mixed cartons rather than freshly prepared.

We were also surprised to find that you can’t just use the sauna or spa pool freely, even when completely empty, without booking a treatment.

One incident in particular left a bad impression. We booked a transfer via reception to a cooking class, which cost €50 one way – surprisingly high. When we needed to change the return time, the host of the class kindly called the hotel to rearrange it. However, our transfer never arrived. The hotel staff were unhelpful and blamed us, insisting they had called (we had no missed calls), and were dismissive over the phone. Eventually they realised the error was theirs, and the new return transfer they arranged cost much less – which made the original price even more puzzling. They were also unnecessarily rude to the host who was simply trying to assist us.
Finally, seeing children using the gym was another small but telling detail – something that wouldn’t normally happen in a genuine five-star setting.

Overall:
There are definitely some redeeming features – the setting is beautiful, the pool area lovely, and certain staff members went out of their way to be kind. But the overall service, attention to detail, and professionalism fell short of five-star standards, especially compared to Kantouni Beach Boutique Hotel. With improvements in hospitality, consistency, and guest care, this hotel could truly live up to its potential.

Avoid at all costs!
Pros:

My family and I arrived at the hotel on Sunday the 19th October and were so disappointed that we left after 2 days as we would rather be at home. The food was inedible and the buffet restaurant resembled a school canteen. We were disgusted that the hotel allowed birds to fly around the dining room and sit on and peck at the bread display which was not covered, a health hazard for all guests. We observed birds pooing on the chairs so God knows what they were doing all over the bread. The drinks were undrinkable, and tasted like chemicals. AI guests had only 1 wine choice which tasted like vinegar. The cocktails were like nothing I had ever tasted before and were clearly made from very cheap spirits and sugary syrup. The room was shabby and balcony was full of ants. To the right of our balcony we had a view of a building site. The child’s sofa bed resembled lying on a piece of wood and creaked with every movement. We had to ask for the pillows to be changed as these were obviously extremely old and had what felt like balls of material within the middle of them so were very uncomfortable to sleep on. The Rituals products which were supplied were so watered down they were unusable. We complained to Easy Jet and management and were told to go to another hotel if you don’t like it. Please avoid at all costs and go somewhere else. Still waiting to hear back from Easy Jet who have been useless.

A gorgeous place to stay
Pros:

The hotel is lovely, however it’s a bit far from anywhere (no walking), we love to have a walk but the roads were very narrow and no footpath. The bus stop is just outside the hotel so really easy to get into Kos town, which is well worth a visit. We ate out there at lunch time and found a Gyros for €5 which was large enough for us to share and was gorgeous!
Food was great and varied always hot.
Room great, we had a beachfront and the views/sun rises were gorgeous. They had everything you needed - toiletries, coffee/tea and coffee machine. Towels changes each day and were plentiful. Spotlessly clean. We had a massive balcony, could have done with recliner chairs on it as it got the sun all day.
Sunbeds were super comfy, the mattress was very thick.
Drinks at the bars were fabulous, a huge range of cocktail and all branded alcohol in the AI package - brilliant!
There were a few good bands on for the entertainment and everyone had a dance.
It was my husbands birthday whilst we were there and they delivered a birthday cake to our room, really nice touch!
The Asian restaurant was gorgeous and definitely worth booking, book as soon as you get there as it gets booked up really quickly.
The infinity pool had an amazing view from it.
We had a few visitors (goats and sheep) which was nice/funny to see, but you are on the side of a mountain so that why. They were cute and you could hear them eating, definitely not a problem.
Could do better on (but didn’t spoil our holiday):
Pool bar shut at 7.30 when adverted as 10
Staff shortage or just not paying attention (many on their phones).
Mediterranean average
Bigger cups for tea/coffee in room.
There’s a kid pool, needs an adults only pool
More seating as bar not big enough for everyone to sit down.
Warmer coffees - at bar.

The hotel was so busy all the time we were there, literally a bus load left and one averaged. We thought it would be quieter the time of year we went.

Not as good as the first time I came.. to busy
Pros:

I came to this hotel 2 years ago and had a fantastic experience the room was spacious and the hotel was so quiet and peaceful. We came back this year and unfortunately didn't have the same experience.. we didn't get the same spacious room as when we came before and it was a bit of a palava setting up our tv as had no Internet connection so we had to wait for an IT guy to come and fix it. The drinks weren't as nice as last time and the staff just don't look bothered at all if u like it or not.. they are also very inconsistent for example one night I asked for an Irish coffee which was made but wasn't nice at all and then my partner asked for one the next time and they said they didn't do them?? This hotel is also way to busy for the size of it. You can hardly get a seat in entertainment bit on the evenings or sun loungers as just to many people i dread to think what its like in peak time as this was October. They either need to make it bigger or not have so many people. The pools are very cold aswell to the point hardly anyone goes in. On the plus the infinity pool looks great and the food is really nice.

Not 5 star
Pros:

Listed as a 5 star hotel , probably nearer 3 , rooms very good and very clean , bar service in the main lobby is appalling,!too many staff chatting together or watching videos, only one choice of wine be it red or white ( that alone is crazy ) , never stayed in a 5 star with one wine on offer ???
Towels for the beach , you have to go to the sauna ( which doesn't open till 10am ) and it's like getting blood out of a stone , they are also rude , Also if you want a sauna you to book ?? Bizarre , food is very good and the dining staff are lovely and attentive, we didn't have kids but nothing at all for them.
Beach is lovely very unspoilt .
They need to have designated no smoking areas as in the main bar wherever you sit the smoke drifts in , wouldn't go back as we have stayed in proper 5 star and this is not

Amazing!
Pros:

We have just returned from our week away at this hotel and had an amazing time.
We had a sea view room that had a direct view over the ocean and we could even watch the sun rise from our balcony.

We preferred to spend our days on the beach which was very relaxing. Alina at the beach bar was absolutely lovely.

The buffet restaurant had a good selection of food and there was always something new to try. We also dined at the Mediterranean al La carte restaurant which was very nice.

NOT a 5* star hotel
Pros:

I’ll start with the positives of this hotel. The sea views are beautiful. We had a premium room right at the front, dead centre, room 1722. The view was lovely, the room itself was ok, fairly basic and not luxurious, but comfortable.
The WiFi throughout the hotel is very good. Be careful to turn off your data roaming though as the hotel picks up Turkey, which costs around £8 per day with certain networks. Stay on the WiFi and turn off the mobile service! The sunbeds are comfortable and there were plenty to choose from, especially in October.

I’m struggling to find anything more positive to say if I’m honest….

The negatives… There are plenty, the food is poor, the quality is poor, the choice is poor, unless you like salad and sauces! The main buffet room resembles a school dinner queue in the evenings! They advertise themed dinner evenings… There was an Asian/oriental one! There was not one Asian dish, other than rice, which was available every night anyway. Breakfast was ok. The crepes were freshly made but lunch & dinner was naff! The a la carte restaurants were included (1 visit each) they were not much better. The Mediteranio was better than the buffet, the Asian restaurant Soy was not to our liking at all, also found it strange that it was situated next to the kiddies play area/pool. Worth booking though (on the app) as they are better than the main dining hall. We ate out twice in Kos Old Town, we enjoyed our meals far more there, the food I have to say was so disappointing and spoiled the holiday.

The wine on the all inclusive package tasted like a mixture of vinegar & unleaded petrol. Avoid it, if I were you!

The other drinks are ok. The menus have a mark next to them, what AI guests can have on the package. Gordon’s Gin, Smirnoff vodka etc…
The beer on tap is Alfa… not Mythos, which again is disappointing. It’s gassy and not great.

The evening entertainment is cabaret crap, most guests just doss around the lobby/bar in evening playing cards, it’s like a retirement home. So boring! No atmosphere. There were a couple singing one night who were ok and livened up the pensioners a little bit into doing a two step dance.

The staff who serve behind the bar in reception in general are miserable, one guy in particular is just arrogant and rude. The ones around the pool are a lot friendlier and they deliver drinks to your sunbed and always ask if you want a drink.

The spa is terrible, avoid at all costs! We paid €160 for a couples massage, it wasn’t worth a penny, they hounded us to pay the bill. Like we were going to run off! They call this hotel & spa, it’s the worst spa in the world…

The pools are like ice baths, yes it looks great on pics, but you can’t go in it for fear of
hypotherma.

It’s not a 5* hotel, it’s 4 at very best, don’t be fooled by the views, they make a great picture but the rest of the hotel is just bang average, far from luxurious and just not worth the prices they charge. If you book here and are satisfied or happy then you clearly have low standards. I could say more but I’ve said quite enough. Book elsewhere, trust me

Beautiful views & facilities but average everything else…
Pros:

We stayed at this Hotel in September.
Overall I would say this is not a 5 star hotel,
more like a 4 star at best, although I would say the facilities are worthy of being 5 star.

Our flight with TUI was delayed almost 24 hours so we got to the hotel at approximately 01:00 hours, a day late. The hotel staff checking in were not expecting us and refused to allow us to book any restaurants included in our all inclusive because we were only staying for 6 nights, due to no fault of our own, although we paid for 7 nights. This was rectified by the staff the next day thankfully.

The room was lovely, and had views of Turkey and the sea from the room. The air con was broken so our first night was very warm, this was fixed quickly by staff the next day. The rooms were a good standard and clean.

The mini fridge was not ever stocked up, it would have been nice to have this filled with water with being all inclusive.

The staff were not the friendliest, especially the bar staff, it often felt like ordering a drink was an inconvenience, although there were one or two that were lovely, mainly in Mediterraneano restaurant.

The buffet food was hit and miss, overall the food was okay. The Asian restaurant was beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The champagne breakfast was also fabulous. Although you only get one booking per 7 night stay.

The infinity pool was stunning, and there always seemed to be free sun-beds, so we didn’t fe el the need to reserve any although others did.

The weather was perfect but it was very windy most days and nights.

This hotel was worth the stay, although I would not return The infinity pool was definitely the highlight and the wow factor of the hotel, but everything surrounding this was average.

Best stay ever
Pros:

Probably the nicest Hotel we have stayed in,on our many trips abroad.Check in was quick .Our room had a lovely view over the pool and beyond to the mountains of Turkey. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed.Hotel was always spotless. The food was excellent ,over the 3 meals.Lots of Greek food which I wanted.Waiting on staff were excellent.Pool areas were fantastic as was the beach.Need to buy beach shoes though .to enter the sea.All bar staff were friendly.Ate in the two additional restaurants ,the food was superb and nicely presented. All in all,a fantastic hotel.Only draw back was the fact ,smoking was allowed in most places in the hotel, but that's Greece I guess.Loved it here.

NOT KID FRIENDLY
Pros:

We visited Michelangelo as a group of 10 adults and 2 children. We had a lovely holiday overall as we were able to spend time with family but we wanted to write this review as a warning to those with babies/ toddlers who are looking to book this hotel.

The hotel is marketed as a 5* and also specifically marketed as a family friendly hotel by Tui.

Here are the reasons I would not visit again with small children.

1. There are steps everywhere . The hotel is build on a cliff face which means that everything is on different levels. There are ramps either side of the hotel where you can walk between reception and the steps leading to the pools but there are no ramps in between. The ramp at one side of the hotel is around the back of the hotel where the service lorries arrive… it feels a bit like you are using the back entrance just because you have a pram. The ramps are STEEP. You need to be fit to navigate them alone let alone with a baby in a pram. There is also NO WAY to access any of the hotels pools without using steps which is difficult when you have a pram. I felt like I couldn’t get anywhere without my husband to help me carry the pram or lug the kids stuff up and down the stairs.
2. No baths in room. There are no baths in the rooms which makes bathtime a bit awkward . Thankfully we read this on the reviews before we travelled so took an inflatable baby bath with us . However, I still think the lack of a bath was less than ideal.
3. No kids menus in any of the restaurants.
4. Kids areas very limited . The kids area included a kids pool which was freezing as it was not heated so our toddler and baby wouldn’t go in ; a tired climbing frame which was in the full sun all day and a shed which was locked with a little pavilion outside that had some kids chairs on it . That was it.
5. The general adults only vibe . We only ever saw 2 or 3 other children at the hotel the whole time we were there . The infinity pool has sunbeds around it that are snapped up early in the morning it is packed all day , everyday. Despite this, it was pretty much silent as it was full of sunbathing relaxing adults . This is all fine…… but we could feel all eyes on us when we brought our 5 month old and 2 year old to the infinity pool to spend time with the family. It felt exposing if one of them were to cry and there was literally nowhere to walk around to soothe a baby as every square inch of the ground surrounding the pool is taken up by a sunbed.
- Kids not allowed in indoor pool. It rained on one of the days of our holiday so we headed to the indoor pool to occupy the kids. As we tried to enter the pool the spa staff barred our way and told us it was an 18+ pool. We complained to the reception as at this point the lack of kids facilities was becoming quite tiresome . They said there was nothing that they could do so we asked to speak to the manager who informed my husband that the hotel was only a “ soft” family hotel and that explained why the kids could not use the indoor pool and why there were limited kids facilities etc . My husband said that he had never heard of a “ soft” family hotel and that TUI has marketed it as family friendly which it was proving not to be .

Despite all of this there were some good points , the restaurant staff were so kind with the children .The bar staff especially Alina was so welcoming to our family and we enjoyed spending time with her every day !

Overall we visited multiple other five star hotels all over the world and although I would say that the infinity pool and view over Turkey from this pool is 5* worthy the rest of the hotel is a 3/4* at best . I would not be rushing to take small children there again any time soon.

The perfect location to relax
Pros:

This hotel deserves every one of its 5 stars. We had a seaview room, which was a spotlessly clean modern styled room. The bed was superbly comfortable, with effective air conditioning and a fridge, safe and plenty of cupboard space.

We didn’t watch the TV, which I think was German. The view of the sunrise was fantastic the sunset, could not be fully seen from the hotel. Go to Zia for that. :-)

There are steps, it’s on a cliff, 60 from our room up to main restaurant (which I’ll come back to) and more down to the beach and pools.

It’s a stone beach so don’t forget your beach shoes. There is a little bar to provide drinks, with a lovely bar tender and a friendly cat. (Cats all over Kos, which we loved).

The pools are excellent, one for small children/families, an infinity pool with a bar and a pool up by the main bar.

Food, the food is excellent and all prepared on site. We were fully inclusive and we used all three restaurants through our ten days. The main restaurant is buffet style while the other two are table service. The staff in all locations are attentive and friendly and they made us feel very welcome.

The bars like all the restaurants with friendly staff serving all sorts of drinks. The fruit punch was the non-alcoholic drink of choice for us. It’s all very relaxed. The entertainment is at the top bar and that was also a lot of fun with a mix of local dancing and music and a DJ came one night and played some good tunes.

So, remember it’s on a cliff, there are steps, but those steps are good to burn off calories, and you will need to earn those for the epic food.

A bus stops right next to the hotel. €2.00 fee gets you into Kos in 20 mins or so.

I’ve never visited Kos, or any Greek island and I will return.

The staff make this even more of a paradise.
Pros:

The Michaelangelo is a magical place that caters to all and doesn't disappoint. The staff make this even more magical.
We chose half board with a sea view, and we were so happy with our choice. We arrived at night but were offered some food from the reception staff which was so nice as it immediately gave us an idea that the staff were going to be so attentive to our needs.

Our room was very spacious, and the bed was king-size and very comfy. There was a walk-in spacious shower with a separate sink area and toilet. There is also a coffee machine and kettle with offerings of pod coffee or small packs of coffee along with tea bags and some milk. The fridge had some bottled water, which was very nice. You have to buy your own water after this and probably better buy a carton of milk from the shop in the hotel. The shop offers a small range of essentials, but there is another larger shop about 100 yards down at the sister hotel if you want a bigger choice.

The Infinity pool is beautiful, but you are better getting up early if there are any preferred beds. We also tried the top pool, which was nice and peaceful compared to the larger pool area, although none of the areas are rowdy tbh. On the last week, we actually went to the private beach as it was such an amazing place. Note of caution is to wear swimming footwear as it is a pebble beach and walking bare foot can be uncomfortable for some. I would say the sea water, which was so clear you could see the fish swom around your ankles, was warmer than both pools, which were very cold.

The food at breakfast was excellent with so much choice for all and the evening meal in the main restaurant was also of high quality. This was all buffet style. We also visited SOYA for one evening and the Mediterranean for another as you get one of each during your stay if you are H/B or All Inclusive. We celebrated my wife's 50th at SOYA, and the food did not disappoint with a four course menu on offer. You only have to pay for your drinks for these set menu events. The staff at SOYA also brought out a beautiful birthday cake for my wife and the staff and guests on the night sang happy birthday to her. It was so nice. The Mediterranean food was also excellent, and sitting looking over the sea at night holds something special.

The bus stop is just at the top of the small slope from the hotel entrance and a bus to Kos town is only 2 euros each.

Now the staff. Every one of them have been exceptional from our cleaner who always smiled and said good morning and kept our room so well, to the garden and pool staff who ensured the areas were kept so tidy, to the kitchen and waiting staff who catered at the highest level and always with a smile, to the staff who welcomed us into the restaurant like you were their best friend, to our beach staff especially our cat loving bar attendant who was just brilliant with all who visited her bar and to the bar staff of the main hotel who were so nice and were always available for your drink needs, and last but certainly not least, our reception staff who not only help make my wife's 50th birthday so special but always were on hand with a smile and fulfilled any need asked of them. The young lad at reception who always smiles just shows how well the Michaelangelo staff go above and beyond to make your stay one to remember. Thank you all for being who you are. See you again soon, we hope.

Pros:

This hotel goes above and beyond for their guests. After spending 10 days of pure bliss at this resort my partner and I couldn't have asked for more. I am chronically ill with reduced mobility and was aware that the resort was built into a hill which could pose a challenge however when explained the excellent reception staff changed our room to one in the main building so everything important was in easy reach. Then when we wanted to head down to the beautiful infinity pool/beach or a la carte restaurants all we had to do was ask for a buggy and yet more of their amazing staff would zip us down to wherever we wanted to go making the steps a non issue!

The room we has was spotlessly clean and modern with excellent air-conditioning. The housekeeping team were incredibly thorough and kind and our room was cleaned daily and towels changed daily.

The selection of food was vast and of great quality every single day. Both my partner and I left every day completely stuffed after every meal. The restaurant staff were always friendly and attentive and the food was always hot, fresh and regularly replaced or refilled. As with everywhere in the resort it was clean, airy and modern.

We had no issues getting a spot on sun loungers either by the pools or at the beach regardless of time of day we came to either area which was fantastic.

If we could have stayed for longer we would have because everyone made us feel so welcome!

The one downside we experienced however was people could smoke at the sunlongers and any outside area including the bar and restaurants which could be off putting.

5* hotel!
Pros:

Me and my partner stayed here last week and we honestly can’t wait to return.

The food, the drinks and the staff were incredible. They couldn’t do enough for you - thank you!

The views from the infinity pool were insane and truly didn’t look real!
