Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse

My stay at Mövenpick Sousse was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
I booked and prepaid my stay through Agoda. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff cancelled my reservation and insisted that I pay a much higher rate directly to the hotel than the price I had originally booked on Agoda. This was completely unacceptable and left me with no real choice.
The breakfast was another huge disappointment. The selection was extremely poor, and the quality of the food was far below what anyone would expect from a Mövenpick hotel. It was honestly embarrassing for a brand with such a reputation.
I believe Accor should urgently review the management of this hotel. The level of service and the way customers are treated are damaging the reputation of the Mövenpick brand. If these practices continue, the hotel risks losing the trust of many guests.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. There are many better options in Sousse that respect their customers and honor confirmed reservations

We had the most amazing week at Mövenpick with my family. Everything about this hotel was perfect! The facilities were excellent and always well maintained. The pool was lovely and always the perfect temperature.

Breakfast was definitely my favourite part of the day. There was such a fantastic selection of fresh food every morning, including live omelette stations, amazing coffee, and delicious fresh fruit. There was so much to choose from, and we even took part in a sushi-making class, which was great fun and something my whole family really enjoyed.

The service from all the staff was outstanding, including the housekeeping team, security, and waiters. A special thank you to Mouhyb, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Every morning at breakfast, he went above and beyond to make sure my family had everything we needed. He was attentive, friendly, and always greeted us with a smile, making us feel so welcome.
Great service truly makes all the difference, and Mouhyb played a huge part in making our stay at Mövenpick enjoyable, relaxing, and completely stress-free.

Thank you to everyone at Mövenpick for such a wonderful stay. We will definitely be returning later this year!

I forgot my sweater in the room and called to arrange its recovery. To my surprise, I was told that nothing had been found. Considering I paid 600 TND for a single night, this is very disappointing. Please be careful with your belongings if you stay here.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not the Mövenpick Standard We Expected

We are currently staying in Room 3050 and felt it was important to share our experience while still at the hotel.

The hotel looks impressive when you first arrive. The lobby is grand, the grounds appear attractive, and at first glance it gives the impression of a luxury resort. Unfortunately, the service and overall guest experience have not matched that image.

We booked an all-inclusive package and have repeatedly struggled to receive even basic service. Yesterday, it took almost two hours to receive a drink by the pool despite asking three different members of staff. By the time it arrived, we no longer wanted it.

The buffet is another major concern. Food is poorly labelled, with little or no information regarding allergens, vegetarian options, or dietary requirements. We were told that certain sandwiches were vegetarian, only to discover they contained meat. This is not only disappointing but could be dangerous for guests with allergies.

The check-in process took approximately two and a half hours, and we were given no resort information, map, or explanation of facilities. For a hotel of this category, this was surprising and frustrating.

There is also ongoing construction work around parts of the hotel, which detracts from the relaxing atmosphere many guests are expecting when booking a luxury resort.

The all-inclusive package itself has been underwhelming. The quality of the included drinks is poor, minibar items are chargeable, and overall the offering does not reflect the premium experience advertised.

We are a family of four travelling with a young baby and chose this hotel expecting a relaxing holiday. Instead, we have spent much of our stay dealing with poor service, long waits, and unnecessary frustrations.

The most disappointing aspect is that this hotel carries the Mövenpick name. We have previously associated the brand with excellent hospitality and high standards, but unfortunately this property has not reflected those values.

We have raised these concerns directly with management and hope they will take immediate action. Based on our experience so far, we would not return and cannot currently recommend this hotel to other travellers.

The hotel was beautiful and sat right on the beach. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the service was fantastic. All areas of the hotel inside and out were immaculately clean. The spa offered fantastic value. I only had bed and breakfast, but the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was large, with a great power shower.

Our stay at the Mövenpick Marine Spa Resort in Sousse, Tunisia, was nothing short of exceptional—a place where hospitality is not merely offered, but felt in every thoughtful gesture and warm smile.

From the moment we arrived, it became clear that this was more than just a hotel; it was a sanctuary shaped by people who genuinely care. I wanted to highlight Lobna and Rayan of Guest Relations stood out in the most remarkable way. They are a huge asset to the group and probably the main reason we shall be returning. Their one-to-one service was not only attentive but deeply personal, as though they had made it their mission to ensure our experience was flawless. Every request was met with grace, every detail anticipated, and every interaction left us feeling valued and truly looked after.

Travelling as a family with my elderly parents, my wife, and my disabled son can often present its challenges, but here, those concerns simply melted away. The team went above and beyond to ensure that each of us was comfortable, accommodated, and able to enjoy the experience fully. It is rare to encounter such genuine inclusivity delivered with such ease and kindness.

The spa facilities themselves were a haven of tranquillity—beautifully maintained, calming, and thoughtfully designed to offer true relaxation. The spa staff were equally outstanding, delivering treatments with care, professionalism, and a gentle attentiveness that made each visit feel indulgent and restorative. It was a space where time seemed to slow, allowing us to fully unwind and recharge.

Selwa and the housekeeping team deserve special recognition for maintaining our surroundings with such care and consistency but more importantly their approach was so warm and genuine they made us feel like family. Our rooms were always immaculate, refreshed with a quiet diligence that never went unnoticed. we would return to rose petals and towel designs and this was most touching.

In the restaurant, Mahmoud from the cleaning team brought a lightness to each day—always pleasant, always smiling, and a genuine joy to be around. Ousama and the wider restaurant service team delivered impeccable service, blending professionalism with warmth in a way that elevated every meal into a memorable occasion.

The front of house reception staff, too, were outstanding—welcoming, efficient, and ever ready to assist, setting the tone for the entire stay with their professionalism and kindness.

There is a certain poetry in a place where every member of staff plays their part so harmoniously, creating not just a stay, but a feeling—one of ease, care, and quiet luxury. The Mövenpick Marine Spa Resort has mastered that art.

We had an amazing stay at Mövenpick Hotel in Sousse. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, especially the stunning sea view from the room — waking up and seeing the ocean every morning was unforgettable. The atmosphere was relaxing, clean, and luxurious.

The staff were all so lovely, friendly, and welcoming throughout the stay. They always made sure we were comfortable and were happy to help with anything we needed. Their kindness and professionalism really made the experience even more special.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sousse and I can’t wait to come back again!

We stayed at Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse from the 17th for 7 nights. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, especially the beautiful views and the decent beaches with clear water. The beach area felt safe as there was security present throughout the day, and there were plenty of affordable water activities available such as jet skiing and parasailing, which were much cheaper compared to many EU or Middle Eastern destinations.

The pool staff were hardworking, polite, and always helpful with towels and assisting families with children. The reception ladies were also very professional, helpful, and communicated well whenever we had issues or questions.

However, one of the biggest disappointments during our stay was the ongoing construction work near the pool area. There was constant noise from trucks, digging, hammering, and other building works throughout the day. Dust and sand were also blowing towards the pool area, which affected the overall atmosphere. Guests come on holiday to relax and enjoy peace and quiet, so this was quite frustrating and should ideally have been communicated beforehand or managed better.

We also had an issue with the room setup. We booked expecting a larger bed arrangement as it was myself, my partner, and my son staying together, and we specifically requested a super king-size bed. Unfortunately, this request was not actioned, and the standard double bed felt too small. This was disappointing considering we paid a significant amount for the trip to celebrate both my son’s and parents’ birthdays.

The hotel beach itself is very nice, but I would strongly recommend adding a beach bar so guests can easily get drinks and snacks without needing to walk back to the pool area or wait for staff attention.

The pool service also needs improvement. During our stay, there were only two staff members covering a large number of guests, and as a result we often waited 20–30 minutes for drinks or snacks.

In the evenings, the reception/lounge seating area has a nice atmosphere with plenty of sofas and seating, but unfortunately the customer service there was poor. Staff were very slow when taking orders for drinks and snacks, which made the experience frustrating.

If you are looking for lively entertainment or music around the pool area, this hotel may not be for you. The atmosphere was extremely quiet and there were very few activities throughout the day. Apart from some gym sessions, there was little entertainment provided. It felt quite boring at times unless guests created their own atmosphere with personal speakers and music.

The indoor heated pool was good and relaxing, although the water is salty. The spa facilities, massages, sauna, and couples packages are also a positive feature for anyone wanting relaxation treatments.

Regarding food, there is one main restaurant with a reasonable variety. While some dishes repeated, most evenings offered different meal options. However, the fruits and desserts were almost the same every day. Guests should also note that wet clothing is not allowed inside the restaurant, which is understandable. We also tried both the Spanish and Japanese restaurants, which require booking in advance, but personally we did not enjoy them much as many of the dishes felt very similar to what was already offered in the main restaurant.

Overall, based on our experience and time spent at the resort, I would rate the hotel 4 out of 5. The resort has great potential thanks to its location, beach, and helpful staff, but there are several areas that need improvement. If management focuses more on guest feedback, improves entertainment, customer service speed, and avoids disruptive construction during busy holiday periods, it would definitely attract even more visitors in the future.

During my holiday at the Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse, I visited the hotel gym and was thoroughly impressed. The facility itself is excellent, but what truly made the experience outstanding was Coach Amine.
