Pros:

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had plentiful choices and it was nice to have breakfast included especially since the cost of the room was high.

Cons:

I was expecting a room in a small castle or mansion, but instead we had a modern room in a renovated carriage house. There was no view of the city, just a very large tree in front of the window. The road to get to the location was narrow and winding and tricky to navigate. It would have been nice to be warned that it was located on a hill with a narrow road.
The price was high for the room, but I also did not know that it was a holiday in Salzburg for the date we reserved.

Spacious room, best breakfast of the trip included in the price, and plenty of free parking.
Pros:

A wonderful find to cap our Austrian holiday. The rooms are in a beautiful building attached to a monastery on a high hill near the center of Salzburg. Driving to it requires some directional help on a winding road up, which the gasthaus provides. Getting down to the old town is done with a lift (elevator) up the side of the hill. It sounds more complicated than it actually is. Just be aware to expect it. Once you’re there, you find plenty of free parking, friendly staff, a very large room with doors that open to a beautiful view (but note it is not actually a walk-out balcony despite what the photo captions may say) fully outfitted including table and chairs, and an absolutely extensive breakfast, included for a very reasonable price in mid-October.

A beautiful, slightly quirky location but don't expect luxury
Pros:

A beautiful location in an old monastery. The accommodation is simple but nicely furnished and decorated. Breakfast was a plentiful continental choice but a very limited cooked option

Cons:

Some of the rooms are in a separate block from the reception and dining room. OK if the weather is good but when it's raining....! There are no tea making facilities in the rooms so if you want a hot drink you have to use a coin operated machine. There is no evening meal option so you either have to walk 20 minutes into town or drive and try to find a parking space
