Pros:

I stayed at El Mirador de Villa de Leyva from Friday to Sunday and overall had a great experience. The hotel is rustic and simple, but the view from the room is absolutely stunning—overlooking all of Villa de Leyva and the surrounding mountains. That view alone made the stay worth it.

The room was spacious and clean, with hot water and a comfortable temperature (no A/C needed). It’s quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The hotel includes a small restaurant where they serve a basic Colombian breakfast—nothing fancy but good enough to start the day. I didn’t try lunch or dinner.

Staff is limited but very friendly and attentive. One thing to keep in mind: the road to the hotel is unpaved. Our GPS first sent us through a steep back entrance that felt unsafe—make sure to use the front road instead.

While the hotel isn’t within walking distance of the plaza, it’s a short drive away. Once there, you’ll find tons of restaurants (local and international) at great prices, plus plenty of shops to buy souvenirs and crafts.

If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, no-frills place to stay with one of the best views in town, I’d definitely recommend it.

The most terrible cleaning, the front desk guy always trying to make us comfortable but unfortunately we had issues with the cleaning aspects, the bathroom full of hair, during breakfast the ladies at the kitchen didn’t use mask or something to hold the hair.
I am assured the owners are really trying to work with whatever they have (which is ok I understand that) but please a clean hotel doesn’t take you to the next level, it is simply not negotiable period!

Las personas encargadas del hotel no son atentas especialmente el señor que está en el restaurante. El desayuno regular. Les falta mucha amabilidad y además tener un poco más de variedad en el restaurante porque el hotel está retirado del centro. La verdad no volvería; estuvo bien por la noche que necesitaba y ya.

Tenían un daño y quitaban el agua en la noche y la ponían después d ellas 8 q iniciaba el servicio
No había nadie para atender antes de las 8 am y me parece muy mal porque si salía más temprano no hay con quien hablar de algún swrvicio q se necesite

En general estuvo bien, aunque cuando llegamos el aseo de la habitación no estaba listo y las toallas nos las entregaron hasta el día siguiente porque tenían que lavarlas primero. Entonces mi recomendación es que tengan más para que eso no ocurra, porque si hubiese querido bañarme en la noche no tenía con que secarme

El hotel tiene una unicacion privilegiada, una vista espectqcular, pero aun le falta mucho en el mantenimiento de las habitaciones, las cortinas regulares, le hace falta tener blackout, los baños son muy regulares y tienen todo para mejorar los detalles para que sea mas confortable! El desayuno muy bueno y el Sr que atiende es muy formal, pero tienen un gran sitio donde pudiera ser administrado por personas que tengan en su core de negocio la hotelería tienen una oportunidad extraordinaria!
