A stay that didn't happen.
Cons:

Nobody was there when I arrived at approximately 2PM. The property looked deserted/abandoned. Only a piece of paper inside the glass door indicated it was the hotel Ganconete. Nobody answered to doorbell. The proper sign boxes on the exterior of the building had the signs removed and only bare fluorescent tube lights remained. No sign, in any language, indicated 'be right back, or back in 10 minutes'. I attempted to call, but only got voicemail in German language. I went around corner to another hotel to ask for assistance. They tried calling also. I think Bookings.com should also do a better job screening prospective hotels for preparedness. Travelers don't really have time to stand around with their luggage wondering what is happening.

Herzlicher Service im Herzen Salzburgs
Pros:

Besonders gefallen hat uns der herzliche Empfang sowie die hervorragende Serviceorientiertheit. Essen war immer jemand da, der einem geholfen oder Fragen beantwortet hat. Sehr sauberes Zimmer. Die Altstadt ist fußläufig in 15 bis 20 Minuten erreichbar. Sehr gute Anbindung an ÖPNV. Wir waren sehr zufrieden uns kommen wieder, falls wir nochmal nach Salzburg kommen sollten.

Budgetlösung in guter Lage, mit wenig Komfort.
Pros:

Die Lage war gut und die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war freundlich.

Cons:

Das Personal konnte nur auf Englisch kommunizieren und war im ersten Moment mit der Bitte um eine Rechnung für das Frühstück überfordert. Desweiteren muss ich leider sagen, dass der Aufpreis für das Frühstück nicht durch das Angebot gerechtfertigt ist.
