The hotel facilities and staff were good.
Breakfast had a good spread and the lady chef was excellent at Amaya restuarant..
I stayed in Room 311.

Cons:

While booking, I wanted to pay 100%, but could not do so - was given the option pf paying at the hotel.
Ended up paying more than what was being shown in Booking.com site.
The bouncers at Ground floor were not expirienced enough to differentiate between the room guests and the outside guests, so everytime when i was returning in the night, they stopped me near lift..
..very embarrasing.

Great facilities and supportive staff, but my stay was spoiled by unprofessional front desk behavior
Pros:

The location, room facilities, restaurant, and the professionalism of the security and other staff.

Cons:

I stayed at Amari Dhaka from 13–14 September. The location, room, and restaurant were excellent, and I found the security team and other staff very professional and supportive. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by poor handling of payments and the front desk attitude.

At check-in, my credit card was charged and an additional 22,000 BDT was blocked, even though my total bill was 19,951 BDT. I understand this is standard practice, but the way it was explained felt rude — “If you take food or services and don’t pay, how will we collect it?” — which came across as unprofessional and distrustful.

During my stay, the front desk staff did not make me feel welcome, unlike the rest of the team. At checkout, I was told the blocked balance would be released in 5–15 days, which I accepted. However, on 17th September my card was charged again twice, and the blocked amount was still not released. The hotel blamed the bank, but my bank confirmed the request came from the merchant itself.

This kind of mishandling and lack of accountability is not what I expect from an international brand. The facilities and support staff are good, but the front desk service and payment process urgently need improvement.
