Pros:

This hotel is truly amazing . The views are breathtaking, and the rooms are not only very clean but also thoughtfully and beautifully decorated. Helen, the owner, welcomed us with such warmth and kindness, and the meals she prepared were absolutely delicious! Sustainably is a core value here, which made our stay even more meaningful.
There’s so much to explore nearby. We hiked through olive groves that lead to charming villages with fantastic food and local shops, and saw stunning historic churches and even an olive oil tasting experience.
This was one of my favorite places we visited in Greece. I hope to return one day!

Wonderful stay at an amazing property and incedible owner and staff attention. Highly recommend this lovely property.
Pros:

Beautiful Mountain View’s, lovely pool deck and outdoor dining area, comfortable and well stocked room. Helen and Pamela were the ultimate hosts. They greeted us on arrival and pampered us throughout our stay. The food they cooked for us was amazing and provided us with excellent tour of the island recommendations. . Great way to experience the culture of the island of Naxos.

Cons:

Hospitality at its Finest
Pros:

We stayed for two nights at ELaiolithos and it was a highlight of our time in Greece. From the photos on this site, you can see that the location is stunning in the mountains of Naxos but what you can’t see is the incredible hospitality provided by Helen and her team to make you feel welcomed and like you are experiencing a bit of real life in Naxos through the food and suggestions she offers you. We also appreciated the queer-friendly hotel and staff.

Our suite was comfortable, well-appointed and luxurious.

We chose ELaiolithos because we wanted to stay at a hotel which was situated well for hiking and exploring the villages of Naxos. Helen, the owner, provided great suggestions on where to hike and what to see during our days there. I recommend the hike through olive and citrus groves and many villages in the area.

Another highlight was the food! The restaurant has plenty of options for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free diets and these dishes were never lacking in anything or didn’t feel like they were a substitution — they were fully thought out, purposefully vegan meals which were some of the best we had in Greece. The locally-focused menu was really special and let us try the flavourful herbs, cheeses, yogurt, and vegetables from around the island.

I’d highly recommend ELaiolithos for a relaxing getaway with great access to hiking, interesting villages, great food, and incredible hospitality. Thank you, Helen!

Great stay and wonderful host! Gem in the mountains.
Pros:

Helen is a wonderful host and really wants you to enjoy your stay and the surrounding area. She is passionate about her hotel's sustainability record and that's is commendable. The location, outlook, room and facilities were excellent - used the pool, gym and restaurant. Helen is a feeder - breakfast and dinner will set you up well!

Cons:

It's not a diss-like but our room in day was great as right in front of pool but at night (and for obvious safety reasons) for pool lights were on all night so room quite light at night.

The most enjoyable and unique stay we had ever experienced in our many travels. TWO BIG THUMBS UP!
Pros:

Upon our arrival we were amazed of how beautiful the resort was. We were greeted by a wonderfully friendly hotel team. Pamela carried our (much too heavy) suitcase to our beautiful suite. The views from the resort were gorgeous! You look accross tens of thousands ancient olive trees to Mount Zeus and the Aegean Sea beyond. The vibe of the resort is welcoming and chill. Helen, the resort owner, was wonderful in taking personal attention making sure you are comfortable and ((OMG) VERY WELL FED! We’ve never tasted food like this! Everything was organically grown on the estate. From the delicious vegetables, pork, lamb, to the amazing greek salad (with homemade local goat cheese). The included homemade organic breakfast crepes with apricot jam were so much better than the commonplace buffet breakfasts at other hotels. I personally requested a plant forward diet and she happily accommodated my request. Our room was divine. Beautifully decorated in Greek art and furnishings with a very comfortable king bed. Because we are higher up in the mountain there is a wonderful breeze that comes through the room at night. I know this review seems “over the top,” but I assure your if you stay here this unique hotel experience will be a highlight of your trip. Like it was for us! Love it!

Cons:

There was nothing we didn’t love about our stay.

Peace, tranquility, and the best care and service you will find anywhere.
Pros:

Meticulously kept and exquisitely decorated. Beyond comfortable with gorgeous views. Helen and her staff go above and beyond to not just make you comfortable, but feeling like family. The food is made from scratch ingredients all provided by the local area and expertly cooked on site as you order it. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Cons:

We wish we would have rented a car to better visit the other local villages. Certainly nothing against the property, merely providing advice for future visitors.

Exceptional
Pros:

Elaiolithos is a must for anyone on a wellness journey who appreciates the finer, regional things. From the delicious cocktails infused with local ingredients and flair to the food options, traditional and homey with a spin of creative genius, nothing disappoints. Helen curates a guest experience that is unparalleled. She sends you off on excursions that only a local has privy to, advises you on all that is Naxos from generations of her family’s history, and warms your soul with her stories, charm, and genuine welcoming spirit. The facility is a dream. Gorgeous rooms, exquisite food, rich textiles, knowledgeable and accommodating staff, and a view that soothes the soul. I can’t imagine a scenario where I won’t go back. Treat yourself!

All in all not a bad hotel, yet not worth the price and calling it a “luxury retreat” is definitely false advertising
Pros:

The view
The pool

Cons:

This hotel calls itself a luxury retreat. Oxford languages defines “a retreat” as “a quiet or secluded place in which one can rest and relax”. This being the main reason we choose this hotel, we were very surprised to find the hotel sandwiched between two bends of a connecting road, making it neither secluded nor quiet.

Although the view was nice and the food was good, the sound and smell of motor vehicles passing mere meters from where we were eating was not. Nor was not being able to open a window in our room and not being able to sit on the terras for the same reason.

Pros:

ELaiolithos has the owner Helen’s stamp all over it. Helen and Pamela were very welcoming and provided us great local food including homemade jams and smoothies, Greek yogurt, salads with local cheese, and really tasty cocktails. They made sure we were never hungry! The atmosphere is very intimate and we chatted with the staff and other guests throughout our stay. Helen also gave us lots of tips on where to go and what to do nearby and throughout Naxos. There’s good hiking nearby the property - throughout the valley where Helen’s brother’s sheeps graze for more easygoing hiking or to Mount Zas a short drive away for more challenging hiking. The staff has lots of attention to detail and helps tailor your stay. They brought fresh melon to our room after our more strenuous hike and offered us a complimentary massage.

We divided our stay in Naxos into two parts - 2 nights at ELaiolithos and 2 nights closer to the beach. I’d strongly recommend this. Although beaches are accessible from ELaiolithos, probably 30 min drive, we really enjoyed exploring the inland part of Naxos - the mountains, villages (Chalki, Filoti, Apeiranthos), and local food and culture.

Thanks for the great stay!

Great spot for couples to relax and explore the hills of Naxos
Pros:

Amazing view, quiet location, modern rooms and excellent staff.

Cons:

Everything was great, the only small detail I can think about is the music from the bar being a tad loud at times if guests want some peace.

If you are seeking a relaxing, authentic Naxian experience, this is the place to stay.
Pros:

The property owner, Helen, and the staff provided exceptional, yet unpretentious, service, making me feel entirely welcome and comfortable from the beginning. The setting of the hotel is exquisite, offering beautiful mountain scenery, and I partook in the most wonderful, impromptu sunset yoga class on my first evening, which set the tone for a memorable stay. They are committed to sustainability and providing an authentic taste of Naxos. I adored each meal, conversation, and moment of quietude that ELaiolithos provided. I cannot wait to bring my family back with me next time I visit Naxos!

Couples Recuperating
Pros:

Early 40’s couple travelling from Canada. We found ourselves at El Aiolithos after touring the Turkey and Egypt and the resort was a very welcome site indeed. We did 2 nights but should have done more. Property is stunning and intimate. Loved the room, the view, the setting. Very unique place with lots of personal touches. Breakfast was a highlight - and the restaurant as a whole is true farm to table as everything is sourced within a few km. Pool was great. Real mountain village vibes. Owner, Helen and her staff were fabulous hosts.

To note - We did not have a car but thanks to Helen being so accommodating and helping us to get around we managed but you will probably want to rent a car if staying up in the mountains. All I can say is book it - you won’t be disappointed.

Absolute Excellence in the Heart of Naxos
Pros:

My wife and I stayed at ELaiolithos for our honeymoon, and quite simply, could not have been happier with our experience. I could write a short story about our time there, but I will keep it as brief as possible for those of you interested in booking there....just do it!

The location itself is brilliantly nestled in the mountains of Naxos, and has a tremendous view of the mountains and valleys of the island. Ample hiking opportunities are located close by, as are charming towns and villages to be explored. For those interested in spending most of your days at the beach, they are less than a 20 minute drive I would say from the hotel.

The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well furnished. There are little details throughout that show there was a lot of care in it's construction. The outside terrace area is where we spent most of our time, and it's not to be missed.

Most importantly though, we were just so delighted with the care and service of the staff. Most especially the owner Helen, who treated us as you would treat a family member. She went above and beyond out expectations in every way. It made our trip to Naxos, and our honeymoon, a special time we will never forget.
