Monte Bay Retreat - Adult Only

There is no denying that the location of this hotel is beautiful. The view was just memorising and we never got bored of it. With only 6 rooms there were many times during our stay that we had the pool to ourself. The chef was great, the breakfast lovely and he was clearly very talented.

We were however disappointed in a number of aspects. We found the service poor. There were many times throughout the day when we couldn't find the member of staff to order drinks or water top ups. The music played at times was really inappropriate. The afternoon staff member liked house/trance at excessively loud levels, despite a number of guests asking for chilled music or for peace and quiet. It put us off eating dinner at the hotel which was a shame given the great chef. Our room was vibrating with the bass.

The pool also had green algae growing in an area that had repeatedly missed the cleaning which wasn't pleasant.

Although no fault of the hotel there is a mosquito issue higher up in Perast. Bring repellant otherwise you will be bitten around the pool.

It was very hot at the time we visited but the room remained warm despite the Aircon setting being as low as possible. We didn't have this issue elsewhere in the heat.

Unfortunately even though the location was beautiful we would not return, particularly at the prices.

It was absolutely amazing. Sasha, the owner and his 2 staff members were so pleasant and nice and extremely helpful. The hotel was remodeled a few years ago from a 300 year old structure. The rooms are modern with every convenience. I loved that I could pick a color for my shower /rainfall to be. Yet they retained the stone walls in the room aligning the modern room with its location. Now, let’s talk about location: I could sit in the dining room all day just looking at the water and the mountains. So peaceful. There is a pool area built just like the most relaxing spa. It is an infinity pool so you can just hang at the edge and soak in the view. Loved that banana bread pie that everyone has raved about in their reviews. The chef is very accommodating and I had wonder meals.

Perast is only a few minutes down some long stone steps. Once there you can wander the waterfront and have a good choice of restaurants.

Having only 6 rooms each visitor gets the attention and service hotel guests deserve.

I had just gotten off a long flight from California so the ambience and location were perfect to do as much or as little as I wanted to. I would go back in a heartbeat

Great location, food, amenities and beautiful views of the town. Eventhough those great things, the customer service is the best feature.

Peaceful and relaxing place . Perfect ! Views from the terrace are breathtaking... we will be going back.

Awesome pool. Rooms are very very good. Very friendly staff. The food at the hotel is much better than at the restaurants surrounding it, give it a try. Would def. stay there again.

Such a lovely place, Perast itself is such a charming place and the hotel it’s located in the heart of it. The views from the pool are wonderful and the staff are super friendly.

Insgesamt ein tolles Boutique Hotel unter sehr guter Führung und dementsprechend sehr gut geschulten und herzlichem Service.

Enda felet var en tråkig frukost. 2 olika förrätter o 3 olika” nästan lika” varmrätter.

What a beautiful place to stay on our first night of our trip. Glorious views over bay. Staff were all attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Took a while to locate the entrance to the car park but well worth the effort and part of the exclusive charm of the hotel.
