This hotel is very dirty with no wi Fi ,in confortable, very noisy, they are a minimum of hygiene .when you ask a minimum of hygiene they pretend don't understand you.it is the most hotel of my life who I found so dirty.
Despite being quite dated in appearance and in some need of repair this hotel provided us with a great base for our holiday. our room was very large and airy, lovely clean bathroom and amazing bathroom. We had a huge balcony which allowed us to bask in the sun for mot of the day if we chose to.The indoor pool was lovely and relaxing in spite of needing a lick of paint. As it was early in the year we found the outside pool too cold for us to swim in but was nice enough to lay on the loungers and sunbathe. The food was really nice and each sitting there was plenty to choose from. My son particularly liked the pancakes which were made to order every day. The resturant staff paid no mind if we made up rolls to take out with us during breakfast. The rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The shops and market place were only a short walk away as were numerous restaurants.
We would recommend this hotel to families looking for a nice break in a reasonably priced hotel.
Well what can I say? My mum and I stayed here from 22nd May till yesterday and it was fantastic! From the lovely welcoming staff to the beautifully displayed meals. Our waiters were Chockri and Ahmed and they were extremely warm and friendly. The maid Afeef made the beds and changed the towels every day. There was a private beach called Cancun beach which was accessible via a horse and cart! I would recommend this hotel to anybody and would definitely visit again with my husband and children!
When i wanted to ho with a friends to Tunisia..many places where more popular than the Port El Kantaui.. (Like Sousse or Hammamet) but we founded this hotel in one of our agencies and decided to go here.
Firstly place is super cute..small..they have beautiful marina and fantastic beach right close to hotel.
Hotel is very nice and when we went there it was kinda empty so they decided to upgrade us to apartment with a kitchen 2 terraces and 2 rooms + 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms.
So nice.
They have free wifi and lovely pool..and is very easy from there to get to Sousse bigger city..
Overall i loved my stay here and would recommend it..
On arrival the hotel looks 5* check in was quick and efficient. As we walked in the room it was a slight let down it was basic but clean.you have free TV if you like a coffee first thing no kettle or cups. We had clean sheets and towels everyday.the restaurant was more than adequate with a good selection. You get free WiFi in reception. The hotel was excellent value for money.I would definitely recommend it.
We are staying there as I write this what can I say hotel is a little dated but a lovely place to stay the food is fantastic staff are friendly too marina is so retry and the beaches are lovely but watch out for the nut sellers on the beach they conn you don't give them notes

My wife and I spent a week at the hotel Golf Residence. Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia from 18th-26th March 2015.
Pros:
Our hotel room (171) was clean, spacious and comfortable with a double and single bed, plenty of wardrobe space and even a small fridge. There was plenty of hot water for baths and showers. The room was cleaned daily by very friendly staff (inc fresh towels). We were aware that some rooms suffered from noise due to the neighbouring disco so we asked in advance for a quiet room. Ours was quiet at night (as long as the balcony doors were closed!) I would recommend asking for a quiet room on the pool side of the hotel if possible. .
Food - We were on a half board package so breakfast and evening meals were included. The food was buffet style, the quality was good, and there was was plenty of it! Breakfast included a choice of hot and cold options including fried eggs, omelette, toast, cheese, croissants, pain chocolate, cake, crepes, tea and coffee
Evening meals featured a choice of soups, salad buffet, several hot dishes (typically fish, chicken, beef, veg including chips, and an amazing array of cakes.
Leisure activities -The Hotel Golf Residence has both outdoor and indoor swimming pools as well as a spa offering Turkish baths, seaweed body wraps, massages, manicures, pedicures etc.
The outdoor pool was a little too cold to use in March, but the indoor pool was nice and quiet. The only challenge was that there weren't any changing rooms.
There was free WiFi in the hotel reception area, but it was slow. Fine for checking emails but not much good for anything else.
Beach - There was a nice sandy beach about five minutes walk from the hotel and we had a walk along it most mornings
Cons
Smoking in bars is allowed in Tunisia so be aware of this. if you are a smoker you'll love it but less so if you are not.
The hotel offers little in the way of evening entertainment apart from a nightly "animations show" which doesn't start till 9:30pm. Not our cup of tea so we avoided it.
We arrived at port alkantaoui 19-11-2014 for a seven day trip.exceeded my expectations straight away room was ok only problem was toilet was positioned close to a wall so seating position was awkward meals wonderfull thanks to Ahmed and lotfi for a wonderfull stay we asked about the onsite night club and was told there would be no problems with noise ,you fibbers,it woke us up still it didn't stop us ,trips were wonderfull ,marke traders were very pushy .because we ignored the many offers to view stalls one trader even said "bloody tourists"he was very lucky not to get a slap we should go again only to go on the other trips we missed. On the whole a very different experience it often felt like running a gauntlet on shopping trips we were over the front doors and often heard the coaches dropping off and picking up.would go back but would like a quieter room as when you want to sleep you can't
My daughter and I stayed here and had a lovely, relaxing time. We had a ground floor apartment with doors opening out onto the beautiful garden and pool area. The location is great- just cross the road and you are in the beautiful Port el Kantaoui with lots of bars, shops and restaurants. Although the apartment itself was very basic, the rooms were cleaned regularly, and the hotel itself had a relaxing family atmosphere. All in all very economical accommodation in a fantastic location, with caring, helpful staff 24-hours a day.
I stayed here about 4 years ago with my family. The hotel is very good for those who is not looking for luxury holidays. The hotel's location is excellent - a few minutes to the beach, marina and city center. We stayed HB, the food was delicious, not very large variety but it was not a problem for us at all. The rooms are simple, clean and tidy. Some have terraces and some balconies. The staff is good, helpful. There is tennis court which are for an extra fee, but it's not expensive (I can't remember how much does it cost exactly). The territory isn't big but it's very beautiful and clean.
I really recommend this hotel for those who are looking quiet and not luxury holidays.
I really would love to come back here!
this isn't a vey big hotel but has plenty to offer.. lots going on for old n young.. friendly staff clean n very eatable food. its close to all things 2 mins from the port n marina opposite the water park, easy to walk to the hanibel l park (funfair type thing). the hotel is friendly n very welcoming. staff r there to help and will always sort things for u no matter or small they r..... good pool again not massive but plenty of beds no lookin for them.... id willing go back again....
this was my second visit to these apartments. The rooms are excellent, very well maintained, clean, serviced daily. although we were in a 2 person apartment there was crockery for 4 people. there was adequate cooking equipment to make a meal on the 2 ring hob. there was no oven. the balcony was fairly large too. Improvements have been made since my last visit, there was now a lift to the second and third floors. the closest shop is about 100 meters away and they sell most of the basic food stuffs. The port was in very close proximity, as was the area surrounding the fountains which still have a light and music show twice a night.
Self catering is not an issue in Kantaoui as there are excellent restaurants all around the port and the fountains and as the pound is strong with 242 TDN to the pound, Tunisia is definitely VFM. if you ate in the cafe or restaurant Na Foura then a really good chicken bagette with chips or great home made burger and ships was only about £3 which makes it very affordable. Even one of the most popular restaurants: Al Mandra which is north of the port near the entrance to the Royal Kenz, I had a fantastic fillet steak for under £10.
Since the Arab Sprin, the resort itself was much quieter than i have experienced before which is a real shame as it is such a fantastic place with such welcoming people.
highly recommented.
