* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 10 to 20 below expected. * WHERE...Southern Kenai Peninsula and Prince William Sound, including the communities of Homer, Seldovia, Seward, Whittier, and Valdez. * WHEN...Until 1 PM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with gusts as high as 25-35 mph in Southern Kenai Peninsula and Kachemak Bay, and gusts as high as 35-45 mph for Seward, Whittier, and Valdez.
